I went to George’s Textile to see if they could possibly fix some old blinds of mine that I purchased somewhere else. While there wasn’t anything they could do to fix it, they still did all they could do to help. They staff was super friendly and kind. They helped me package my blinds to send back to the manufacturer and expected nothing in return. I can’t state enough how well this business treats not only customers but people. 1000% recommend buying at Georges Textiles and I for sure will be.

I had George's textiles create custom bench seating for my kitchen breakfast nook and mudroom. I could not have been happier. Not only was it better than expected they also threw in two pillows. They also installed a shade in the kitchen at a great price. I will without question use them again and there is no one better....truly!

I have had George's Textile (Linda, Bob and Amanda) help me with window treatments and reupholstering for the past 12 years and I wouldn't use anyone else! The shop carries beautiful fabrics for inspiration and if you need awnings, solar panels or shades, you'll find them as well. Linda is friendly, honest and dependable, and her work is perfection. She thinks outside the box and when I tell her what I want, I immediately see the wheels turning in her mind for the best way to execute the project. She has never disappointed and I recommend her over and over to friends and family. George's Textile is quite simply the best.

George's Textile is that rare gem of a store that I truly treasure. I have referred countless friends and neighbors to Linda over the past 14+ years so she can use her magic touch to turn their houses into homes . No one has ever been disappointed and everyone keeps coming back for more. Whether it's re-upholstering that chair that's been sitting in your garage for a decade or custom roman shades for your kids' bedrooms, you will not be disappointed! George's Textile offers a wonderful selection or fabrics and products and Linda and Bob are second to none at helping folks make choices they will be happy with for years to come. Their combination of skill, knowledge, and awesome commitment to customer service make it a pure pleasure to work with them! If you need custom window treatments or new blinds, or just a little pizzaz to freshen things up, call them today! You will be so happy you did!

Linda and Bob have helped me put shades or curtains in every room in my house. I brought ideas to the table and Linda gave me suggestions and her expertise and really guided me in the right direction without losing the vision I had in mind. They both had suggestions that I didn’t even know existed. We get compliments on the window treatments all the time. They are knowledgeable, meticulous and professional. Highly recommend!

As Director of Historic Homes for Middlesex Community College, I have had the opportunity to work with Linda, Bob and Amanda at George’s Textile for many years. They are professional, warm and courteous. I greatly appreciate their advice on fabric selections and find their work to be second to none! It is a pleasure doing business with them.

Five stars and more for George’s Textile. Linda, Bob, and Amanda have helped me with numerous projects—living/family room lined draperies and pillows, kitchen valances, dining room sheer draperies, bathroom wood blinds, master bedroom bedding and room darkening shades, teen bedroom shades and cornice boards, and most recently outdoor cushion and pillow covers—I’m not sure there’s a room they haven’t worked their magic in! Linda gives reasonable and stylish consultations, Amanda is a fabric genius, and Bob keeps everyone thinking about measurements and logistical solutions. They are a great team! I highly recommend George’s Textile for any job!

I had two chairs reupholsyered by George's Textiles. They did a horrible job and our complaint was not taken seriously. They were not interested to satisfy our concerns. Do not recommend!

Wow. I've been hunting on the internet for some fabric to recover an antique loveseat I picked up cheap on Craig's List. I've found pretty much nothing, and find it really difficult to search sometimes, because I have literally no anchor for the design. We currently rent, plan on buying in the next few years, and even if I were planning on matching the current neutral-toned living room, the loveseat's the first piece to be done, so it's totally wide open. I was thinking of a burgundy color, and was thinking of ultrasuede because it's supposed to be very easy to care for. But I basically have a blank slate, which as Amanda at George's says is "both a blessing and a curse". We went in on a Saturday at a little before noon. I went with my mother and my incredibly well-behaved baby, who was quite happy to play peek a boo with a scrap of cloth Amanda cut for us as something to walk around and use to match fabrics. I went because in annoyance with online fabric warehouses I did a search for warehouses in MA, and found a list somewhere of ALL the non-chain fabric stores in MA. I noticed George's was in Lowell and figured a 10 min drive was worth it. Their website advertised 30% off all remnants, so I went hoping to score the 9-10 yards I need for the loveseat, or at least get some ideas. There was another adult daughter-mother team in there and Amanda was working alone. She handed me a couple of books of microsuede so I could look through them. We then went wandering around looking at the rest of the fabric, which is laid out in coordinating rows. The selection of in-stock stuff is small, but there is a HUGE variety of fabric that can be ordered. The remnants were wild in their variety. We ended up with several small scraps that were only $1/each (plus 30% off, so $0.70/ea) to make some soft stacking blocks for my baby and her little cousins. We also ended up with a few remnants to do a small chair in the baby's room and a duvet cover for her bed. I found a remnant of a GORGEOUS print. I wouldn't do a piece of furniture in it because it's too light, and therefore terrible for kids and pets, but it makes great accent pillows, or I'd put it as wall paper on a single wall or something. It was inspiring. Amanda found some beautiful fabric they had in stock that matched and of course the suede books yielded several possibilities for coordinating pieces. I will end up spending more at George's than I would have if I'd been able to find something online, but honestly, given the amount of time I've spent on various websites staring at hundreds of fabrics, wondering whether or not "good for upholstery" actually meant what it says (it doesn't), wondering if my screen resolution was accurate in its color displays (it's not), and given that the prices at George's are not the highest I've been quoted from other fabric sources and upholsterers I've talked to. I also have to say that Amanda was SUPER helpful, knowledgeable and extremely nice. I've read a lot of reviews of other fabric stores and upholsterers and read about how unfriendly and unhelpful people are in them. If I didn't have an upholsterer already I'd absolutely be bringing my stuff to George's, but I'll be buying fabric from them for sure, and I would recommend them, and specifically Amanda, to anybody.

$22 for two yards of fabric (I love it) and two yards of lining, verbal directions on how to line curtains (I've never done lining before), and $1.25 for a curtain rod (the rod's from Target). Much less expensive than the $65 I was quoted from the place that was closed on a Monday (and they didn't have fabric/curtains I liked anyhow). Score. Maybe I'll do the bedrooms next.
