Had a truck booked to pick up in the morning, no one was there and door was locked during business hours with no communication so couldn't get the truck. Set back the move and had to go to another U-Haul entirely.

Had a horrendous experience at this location yesterday. Nothing it down here so that others can be wary and try not to rent from this very poorly managed location.
1. Pick up took well over an hour
2. The right side view mirror on the r automatically kept rotating while driving (extremely unsafe rendering no view for the passenger side while driving)
3. Even though I reached 45 mins before closing, the store was locked with no prior information.
4. There was only one parking spot to park the truck while returning and it was extremely tight. I had to call a friend to assist me otherwise it was just not possible to park with the space given the broken side view mirror.

This location is very cramped and busy for driving large trucks in and out and they didn't have the dollies I reserved. The truck back hadn't been swept out and was dirty, plus the check engine light was on. I made my reservation a month in advance for an entirely different location 25 minutes away, but that location had no trucks (apparently the word "reservation" has no meaning) and they sent me an automated text message and email 30 minutes before I was supposed to pick up my truck to tell me to go to this location in Malden instead, which put my entire move schedule behind by an hour. Terrible organization and service.

My one concern was in relation to a return on Sunday evening. I attempted calling the location at 430pm and no one answered. I was forwarded to customer service after a 3 minute wait on the phone. When I explained to the representative that I was less than 5 minutes away and was just hoping to make the deadline, the representative told me in Sunday when they're ready to go there's, "morning that can be done." I'm every other service industry, this is not the man's in which a business would comport themselves with the goal being retention and recommendation. Upon my arrival at 454pm, the on site employee was walking around the property with his headphones in, which would amount for his inability to not only answer the phone, but hear the phone ring. His refusing to acknowledge me as well was the offensive cherry on top. I think outside of everything else, this was a largely unprofessional way to go about business. Having the customer service representative over the phone proceed to take 5 minutes to explain to me why I was in the wrong and the U-Haul model was right, was irritating as well. If this is U-Haul's general business practice, that's immensely disappointing

If zero stars were an option, that’s what I would choose. As I moved out, I found broken glass, a dirty sock, an empty alcohol bottle and a used Covid mask, among other things, in my unit. None of the items belonged to me. The customer service is horrid. Being ignored by staff, and when they finally acknowledged me, they’re were on personal phone calls and doing the bare minimum and talking to others the whole time while trying to ‘help’ me. Most of my questions were met with a responsive of, “That’s not my job”. Restrooms were broken. Honestly, I am not a complainer, but this is the worst storage facility I’ve ever seen in my life, it’s filthy and I’ll never be back.

I work for a local org that deals with a variety of different storage companies. When I tell you that this was the best customer experience I've ever had, I mean it. Xavier at the front was assisting multiple people at once, efficiently and effectively helping everyone in line and getting them on their way. We will be looking in to working exclusively with U Haul storage simply because of how incredible this experience was. Thanks again.

The customer service was amazing. The truck was horrible. It smelled bad. It was hard to drive. The engine light was on and hold onto the steering wheel because the truck would turn left or right on its own. The steering wheel was stuck up most of the time driving it was horrible.

Price is too high for this unit to be involving homeless people, bugs and roaches that have probably have eggs. On top of that I also saw a pigeon inside (weird) lol I will change my review when they eliminate all pests and bugs and homeless people that bring food inside
