“I’ve been bringing my dogs to JP Animal Clinic for almost 3 years, and I’m only leaving because I’m moving away.
Every vet - Dr. Levine, Dr. Marks, and Carter - we’ve seen has been incredibly knowledgeable and great. This practice does not push unnecessary tests or treatments. The docs will walk me through their thought process and always present options, walking me through decisions in a way that feels collaborative and supportive. They’ve helped us through everything from smaller issues like fleas and post-flea dermatitis to much more serious diagnoses like mast cell tumor and Cushing’s disease. The wait for appointments, diagnostic testing, and surgery is not long. They’ve also gone out of their way to help me find the most cost-effective ways to get my dog a particularly expensive medication. Through it all, I’ve felt confident that my dogs were receiving excellent evidence-based care.
Most importantly, when my dogs walk in, everyone knows them and is genuinely excited to see them. That kind of warmth and familiarity means so much.
The only real downside is parking — it can be a bit tricky in JP— but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality of care.
We will truly miss JP Animal Clinic!”
“We moved to Boston a last year and were stressed about finding a new vet because we have a 16 year old dog with complex needs and we were very happy with our old vet. I am so glad we found Heal. They prioritize the animal's comfort more than any other vet I have been to and they also really care about the owners too. I absolutely love the email summaries for appointments. It's honestly surprising that this place is not super expensive because of the level of personal care you receive. I wish my doctor was like this!”

“Pinto is a very sweet dog with very high anxiety around veterinary treatment, specifically onset during the COVID pandemic. Back Bay Veterinary Clinic -- and Dr. Graham in particular -- has been SO wonderful in working with us to figure out the best way to make sure he is calm and comfortable so that he can get the care he needs! I recommend Back Bay Vet to ALL of my friends with pets, but especially anyone with a ~* special *~ dog like Pinto.”

“We are deeply grateful to VCA City Cats Hospital, especially Dr. Palopoli, for the exceptional care they provided to our beloved cat, Meatloaf. Dr. Palopoli is an outstanding vet — incredibly smart, attentive, and deeply compassionate. She has a fantastic bedside manner and truly knows her stuff.
In Meatloaf’s final appointments, she made sure he was comfortable and cared for every step of the way. When the time came to say goodbye due to his age, Dr. Palopoli guided us through the process with so much empathy. She explained everything ahead of time so there were no surprises, and gave us the time and space we needed to be with him. Afterward, she even sent a personalized card that meant so much to us during such a difficult moment.
The rest of the staff was also excellent — always professional, kind, and respectful in every appointment we had. I wish I remembered everyone's names because they all deserve credit for the thoughtful and skilled care they provide.
VCA City Cats is truly a special place, and we’re so thankful for everything they did for Meatloaf and for us. We have two other cats, so we'll be back!”

“We have been coming for years with our cats and dog and have always loved the care and our pets are given. Recently, however, out beautiful orange kitty Logan, became terminally ill. The care they showed him and the kindness they gave to us, the humans, made it a bit less awful. We got a wonderful note from Dr. Binder after it all happened, and it was much appreciated.”
“We saw Dr. McEwan today after moving to Massachusetts from California, and wow. I've never had a vet be so thorough, thoughtful, and informative.
After reviewing our 5-month old pup's records with me, Dr. McEwan spent a solid 10-15 minutes answering questions and giving me breed-specific training advice. For example, when doodles grow up, they often hate getting their paws touched, so Dr. McEwan explained how to desensitize/train our labradoodle for nail cutting.
Truly above and beyond care, and our pup had a great time at the vet.
11/10 would recommend.”

“We have 2 dogs that are frequent flyers at MetroVet. Everyone is so caring with my pups and always helpful with my many phone calls with questions. My dogs are very nervous and we’ve had experiences with other vets where I wasn’t allowed in the exam room or they just didn’t seem to care about my dogs being comfortable there. Here I get to stay with them and they take things slow at their pace and give lots of good treats. We also go right into the exam room and never have to deal with other dogs being too close to us which is also a plus. My dogs love the staff here! ❤️”

Each and every time the staff that answer the phones are knowledgeable, helpful and efficient getting my pups seen when needed. They are so kind and welcoming upon our arrival. I have seen two different vets there and they both have been skilled and compassionate and are diligent with their follow up. “This place is the best. We are first time dog owners, and we have no idea what we are doing. Everyone we have interacted with at South Bay, from vets to techs, has been so helpful and knowledgeable regarding our puppy, particularly around her recent spay surgery. We have met 3 of the veterinarians (Dr. Wosko, Dr. Frye, and Dr. Bower) across both locations, and they have all been excellent. Highly recommend this practice for anyone with a pet in the Beacon Hill or South End neighborhoods!”

“I've been going to Mill Brook for the past 5+ years, through all the recent personnel changes, and one thing has always been true- they are caring, thorough, and thoughtful. They are always willing to take the time to answer any questions I might have, and I know they adore my pup and only want what's best for him. During his most recent procedures (which were fairly extensive), I never felt pressured to do more/less than what I thought was necessary after getting all the facts from Dr. P. and Dr. Suzanne. I also find it very helpful that they can do everything at this location- echos, ultrasounds, dental work, etc- it makes it very convenient!”

I am especially appreciative of the fact that they didn’t encourage us to do any bloodwork or anything extra since they felt pretty strongly that the symptoms our pretty girl had would subside. “This place has always made me and my pups feel welcomed and heard! When we lost one of our fur babies to a hit and run a year ago they were so helpful with everything! Dr. Dunn is amazing with my pups and always remembers them. They love him and are always excited to see him. It is a little expensive but my boys are given great care so they are worth it.”

My two little dogs are my whole world and they have taken such incredible care of them, I have cried out of gratitude. I moved here from out of state and I couldn’t get in any vet for months. When my one dog needed potentially emergent surgery they squeezed her in the next day and we have been going there ever since. I love these people and am so incredibly grateful for them.”
