Story time and I’m sorry it’s not fiction….
So today I went into a pretty well known clothing store and immediately felt eyes burning into the back of me. I turn round and noticed a taller older sales assistant just watching me. I was hesitant to assume she was doing so and maybe she just letting me take some time to browse before approaching to assist me. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I’m not the confrontational type so I just continued to do as I would normally in any establishment, look around before I purchase. As I continue to look on as did she, my shopping experience turned from being a typical teen outing with some friends to quickly feeling super uncomfortable. I know often our minds can play tricks on us, but as she watched me, I also could also see her when she wasn’t paying attention to me. She was in fact assisting all the other customers that were going through the store shopping and doing exactly as I did but not once ask me if I needed assistance. The only thing that was different between me, and those other customers is the color of my skin. It was long before the end of my shopping experience that it was obvious that I was being stereotyped and that discrimination was live and well in the store. As a teenager, we have enough things we take home with us. We have enough things that we leave home with and when we’re out and about, just trying to adjust an exist in this world, it’s hard when people like her create these feelings and environments and can go about their days with no feelings about it. I guess that’s why I’m writing this review because I care not only about myself but about the world and I want us all to do better. Not only is my money the same but people are too and this is just unacceptable.

I visited this lovely shop during a recent visit to the area and found several cards and gifts to my liking. The selection of clothing, jewelry, and decor is just beautiful. The customer service was very friendly. If I lived here, I would return again and again.

Please go and visit. Aimee is an amazing jewelry designer and a super nice person!!! Her taste is outstanding. The clothes are beautiful and you feel like you are with your girlfriends.
