After 25+ years as a customer, left this bank due to terrible customer service. We travel frequently, and post-merger they changed their ATM policy (without notice) requiring they be notified of travel ahead of time. N ot knowing this, we got stranded in Ireland without access to cash. Had to wait until Saturday afternoon (given time zone difference) to call customer service. Was informed the person who could activate our ATM card wouldn't be in until Monday! So Monday comes, ATM card still does not work, call back and clearly they have no record of the request. Finally by late Monday could get cash.6 weeks later, another international trip. Notified them ahead of time of our travel plans. Get to our destination, and you guessed it, ATM cards do not work. Call customer service, told she'd "send an email" to the person to active our cards! Asked for a call back when this happened, which they did do (4 hours later). Go to the ATM - cards do not work. Tried several other ATMs - cards do not work. After all this and sending them a detailed letter, there was never any outreach or response from management. Clearly did not care. It's OK to have procedures to limit fraud, but unacceptable to have NO customer service to then resolve issues 24/7. Very frustrating as I want to support a local business, but post-merger they have lost their community service focus.

I couldn't leave zero stars to get to this point, otherwise I would have. They approved the financing for a vehicle I purchased only to backtrack 3 weeks later and start asking for bank statements and tax returns. I showed them my bank statements showing I made plenty of income to cover my payments and they still made me try to jump through hoops. Stay away from Sharon and Crescent Credit Union. Worst experience ever and embarrassing

Since the merger, the staff is not personable AT ALL with exception of two loan officers.

I've had it with SCU. They weren't great before the merger and they only got worse. There automated system doesn't function properly so we are constantly getting late notices for our home equity loan. When we finally get in touch with someone they act like it's not a big deal. Getting a late notice threatening collection and reporting to the credit agencies is a big deal, especially when it's the banks fault and not yours. Also, about that home equity loan. The loan officer in Sharon acted like he was giving us a hand out. He almost never answered his phone and made it difficult to make an appointment. It's a pain in the a*** but I'm changing banks.

I emailed this bank 5 weeks ago requesting help logging in to my online banking account. No one ever contacted me to help me get back into my account. After two weeks I called the bank and left a voice mail message with one of their reps requesting a call back regarding my account and information on current loan rates. I never received a call back from anyone. On my third call, I was able to speak to someone about my account. As it turned out their merger with Crescent bank caused an issue with my account causing me to stop getting monthly statements and locking me out of my account. What's more concerning is, apparently, they were unaware or unable to fix this issue for 7 months following the merger. It only got resolve because I brought it to their attention and persistently called back. Not good.

Sharon and Crescent Credit Union merged a while back and it's been a nightmare interacting with them ever since. I am going to pursue refinancing and get away from this operation.

I have been with SCU for almost 15 years now. Since they have merged with Crescent, their customer service has completely tanked. I have called SCU about you 6 times in the past few months, needing to leave messages a few times anticipating the bank calling me back after leaving the messages, only to have no one get back to me. I have only been able to get to an account specialist once in these times, and that one time I was disconnected and needed to call back and wait yet again for about 20 minutes. You as a banking institution need to be available on the phone to your members, especially during a pandemic when going to onsite locations is discouraged, otherwise people are going to leave. I have never considered leaving SCU until now.

I've never had so much trouble paying a bill in my life... If you're going to be a "small local bank" act like it... I can sit on hold at Bank of America and at least their website works. We have a loan that was written by Crescent Credit Union, SCU has purchased them and their customer service is atrocious. NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE. We've been through ever single option on the phone tree and the only one who answers are the people who can only walk you through signing in--they can't answer account questions or help with anything else whatsoever except giving you the step-by-step on how to log in. After you are dumped back into a phone queue it takes multiple days to get a phone call back, if you even get a call back. Once you get a call back, no one has consistent information. All we want to do is put our auto loan back on automatic draft. But if you pay it on-time it's late because it takes them 4 days to receive an "external transfer." Everyone's answer is, "we've had high call volume due to the merger." This bank was woefully under-prepared for this merger, the computer systems don't talk and they don't answer phones. Can't call a branch directly, can't call operations directly, it's one giant phone queue and no one answers ever.

Although i gave this Mansfield branch 5 stars, I based alot on my past 20 yrs experience here.I have to admit I miss pulling up to window, seeing Kathy’s warm smile and greeting , KNOWING my name etc , and always being helpful in a respectable way for my lack of banking knowledge and procedures , if I filled out any deposit slip incorrectly. . She is greatly missed. Dont even get a hello now from anyone at window when I pull up .
