Had an issue with my car and John jumped right on it! He was diagnosing and working on it within 20 minutes of dropping it off and I couldn't ask for better service. He ended up delivering the car back to my house in town as well!

I called ahead of time asking if the shop was busy to bring in car for tire repair. On the phone I asked if that is something that the do. I was told to stop by later in the day and I did. As soon as I walked in they told me they are not able to do it for my car (they did not ask make/model or type of tire) and casually offered to replace it. Went 4 miles down the road and had it fixed in 10 mins. Lesson learned.

I have bought and always serviced my Jeeps at the dealership, until the service there became toxic. When my current Jeep (which is driving perfectly without any problems) was due for the 30K service, I called the dealership, because I didn't know whom else to trust with this. They quoted me over $2000 for the 30K checkup.
Then, a very good friend recommended Atlantic Motor Works and its owner John to me, where she has been servicing her car for many years.
I cannot recommend this garage enough. You cannot find a more honest, friendly and COMPETENT service anywhere else. And aside from the utmost professional attitude, the customer service is superb. And did I mention that the 30K checkup cost $245.- ? John showed me what my car was supposed to be checked for in detail, and what it amounted to.
Don't go anywhere else to service your car.

I had a family emergency and needed my car checked out for the drive. John was not only compassionate, he thoroughly looked over my car to make sure it was safe to take the trip. He and his crew found a few issues, repaired them right away and went above and beyond to make sure I was safely on the road in a timely manner. I’ve had repairs done here before and feel lucky to have them in town.

I have been a customer of Atlantic since they opened 4 years ago and I am as happy to now with John and his crew as I was then. Honest, fair prices, knowledgeable and a nice guy. What more can you ask for from your doctor (I wish) I mean mechanic.

I have been going to John and his crew since he opened over 3 years ago. John is professional and he explains in detail what is needed and the cost (even when estimated as many times its hard to give exact costs). He is someone you can trust with your vehicle whether you just drove off the dealer lot with it or if its 10 or more years old! I would trust John and his work before i would trust anyone (especially a car dealer). He is a good business man and will NOT do more work than needed without approvals. In this day an age of scams and overcharging - John is someone who will do the work right and do it correctly and for a fair price.

Received a phone estimate and once car was in shop and they looked at it, they gave a new estimate which was 3x original but could not give an exact price even after looking at the car. Three other shops gave exact estimates after seeing vehicle and all were significantly less expensive.

Wonder service; professional and fast. I walked in on a Monday morning first thing and was hopeful to get an appointment later in the week (or 2!). John took the time to go over the problem with me on the spot. I was able to leave the car and pick up later that day. Amazing. I'm sure a "walk-in" is not what he needs to begin his week, and yet he greeted me with such professional care and compassion. Thank you!!

Gave this shop a try because of the great reviews. Met Mike who took a look at my car within a couple of days of my call. Seemed to be a very knowledgeable mechanic and was polite. Diagnosed the problem and showed me the work that needed to be done. He typed everything into the computer and read it back to me. All the stuff stated in the positive reviews. Because he didn't charge me for the diagnosis, I waited 2 and a half weeks to get my car repaired.When I brought it back in, Mike wasn't there and I was told he was "half way around the world". When I discussed the work Mike said needed to be done, there was disagreement about the scope with the new person I spoke to. Left my car because I already waited over two weeks to get it fixed and it was unsafe to drive. Walked home, changed my mind, and called to cancel. I was told they had already paid for the tires so I left it there. Big, big, big mistake.When I picked up my car at the end of the day, I was again told to look at another problem that needed to be addressed - which I had already mentioned needed to be fixed when I dropped off the car in that morning (so half the car was fixed, the not as bad side and not the really bad side). When I said that was in the notes he became argumentative over it, that he didn't want to order a part that was not needed...as if I were there to spend more money than I wanted to? The tires were not the tires Mike had suggested but literally the cheapest tires they could find. I was told that I could leave my car there overnight and it would be fixed the next day or I would have to wait another 2-3 weeks.If you used Bartlett, my suggestion is unless you get Mike, I would pass on this shop. I brought it to another mechanic who works on Subarus in Salem to undo and redo the work the correct way. All done and safe now.
