Dec 2023 (New Ownership). When asked for an itemized quote ahead of time, owner acted out at me saying, “I won’t work with you” because “You don’t trust me.”When I protested at his hostility I mentioned that I am a lifelong resident here and this is a nice town. He then walked over to the young female cashier and took this out on her. I felt terrible, watching her try to defend herself.I proceeded based on a previous review.I showed up early Monday morning only to be shoved off to the next day because “a mechanic called in sick.” Later, the owner stated this had been because he “had accidentally put [me] on the schedule for the next day.” He was persistently dishonest throughout and did not care about me or my car one bit. When further work was needed I was once again pushed off to the next day when I showed up.My time is valuable. But I was very patient and understanding. Owner said he would give me “a small discount” for this. But instead he tried to overcharge me when work was complete. Luckily, I could product the written estimate he had forgotten he had given me.I still paid too much.I had begged him throughout to be thorough with my car’s diagnosis, discussing its symptoms repeatedly. But he did not do his due diligence, instead “guessing” and changing out parts. This did not work, and cost me $1000 — all the money I had budgeted for repairs. He didn’t even drive the car afterwards to confirm the repair. No alignment (which the car so badly needed after his work) wasWhen I called later to complain, he dodged me. No corrections were ever made.Don’t give him any business. He doesn’t deserve it. And do NOT buy ANY excuses he tries to give you for his behavior. He knows what he’s like.

Brought my Tacoma in for an inspection sticker and oil change. I didn’t have an appointment and they weren’t too busy so they took care of me very quickly while I waited. They have a small waiting room that’s very clean, comfortable and private. The price for the oil change wasn’t bad. I also had anther problem with the truck making a front end noise. They diagnosed it very quickly and gave me an estimate. I had previously taken it to two other mechanics at other locations and neither of them were able to diagnose the problem but the mechanics at this Shell gas station (Marshfield Auto Center) were able to make a diagnosis and they gave me a reasonable estimate so I schedule the repair. Brought it in a few days later they fixed the problem at the price they quoted and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend this shop. The people are very nice, professional and honest. I highly recommend them.

Family owned and operated by the Kantarowski's, who are a great local family. They are always honest and straightforward. The employees are very personable, kind, funny and helpful. Whether looking for gas or an auto mechanic you know you're in good hands when you are at Marshfield Shell. You won't meet a better man than the guy you meet first, Steve in the snack shop.

I have been coming here for inspections since it's convenient. Recently, I decided to get an oil change done here. I've been getting my oil changed at Vavoline because it's quick and easy but it's also pricy. I got tired of being pressured to purchase other services as well. Marshfield Auto Center occasionally does walk-in oil changes but they are a pretty busy place. I ended up making an appointment for the next day without issue. I arrived and the older gentleman at the register greeted me. One of the mechanics came right out to take my keys. My appointment was for 10:30am and my Jeep was done at 10:46am. The oil change cost $37.95 plus tax. I believe that is about average to most gas stations. I paid much more at Vavoline. I was able to sit inside and wait. I wasn't pressured to buy any other services. I paid and my Jeep was brought up to the door. I like seeing lots of people coming and going, including women, it can be hard to find a place that won't take advantage of people. I do have a great mechanic but this place is closer to home, so I may try them out for a repair in the future.
