I thought I'd stop by the Yarn Basket since I was driving right by. Liz is just an incredibly welcoming person. She has a nice selection of yarns and I bought two skeins of fingering that are just beautiful and were reasonably priced for such nice yarn. I just wish she was around the corner. It's a 45 minute drive, but I'll be back.

Lovely store and proprietor, Liz. Good selection of new yarns and a sizable inventory of hard to find older skeins. She took the time to teach me some new skills- staying after closing to finish up a difficult repair.

Liz is awesome. I I can attest that she makes her non-knitting partner feel welcome. She helped my wife figure out how to mend a sweater which is fourth dimension knitting skills. Sweet place and top-notch cool people.

Had a wonderful visit at the recently upgraded and renovated yarn basket! I had never been in before but was very impressed by the care and thoughtfulness that has gone into the store’s refurbishment. My friend and I had a lovely chat with the new owner who is very knowledgeable, eager to help, and clearly takes great pride in her store and the work she’s put into it (as she should!). I was so pleased at how invested she is in fostering a collaborative knitting community, something that is very needed! Will be looking forward to coming back again for yarn shopping and/or knitting circles!

Great news! The Yarn Basket is in great shape. The new owner has done the work needed to reclaim the space and create a welcoming space. This weekend she is having a tent sale. I can’t wait!

Beautiful selection of quality yarn. Always a fun visit to a very knowledgeable and talented owner. You may have to dig through the voluminous stock, but you won't be disappointed.

Visited the Yarn Basket with high hopes for the first time yesterday. I'm thinking this is a place for regular customers that know their way around. I found it very cluttered and hard to find what I wanted. The shopkeeper was polite and gave me some advice on what weight yarn to use for baby items and she pointed me In The direction of the products. There was a foul odor in the place. There is a bathroom with an open door directly behind the cash register - maybe that's why? I wish it were more organized and that I got more enthusiastic service. I did not make a purchase . There were some very nice , soft yarns there and a good selection of colors.

Don't walk in if you're a person of color. As soon as I walked in, I was interrogated of what I was looking for. Very kindly, I stated that I'm from out of town and just wanted to visit her shop. After about 90 seconds, again, "what are you looking for?" Again, "I'm looking for now." I see a yarn that I've been looking for and ask the price. She turns away from me and goes back to the credit card machine. I wait a few minutes to let her finish. Still, no answer. I put the yarn back on the shelf, turn to her to see if she will answer and does not. I walked out. This is disappointing after the extremely positive experiences we've had in the Cape over the weekend. My daughter (15) just said, "There's always one."

First time visiting this store today. The owner was kind enough to allow me to purchase a shawl pin , that had been on display, fastening a sample sweater. I was most grateful as the pin was not in stock...amazing amount of yarn- jam packed! I will visit again.

***Update - thank you for the prompt reply addressing my concerns. I have increased my rating to three stars and look forward to the next time I am in the area to visit again.***Original posting intact:I feel like there should be a warning on the door. Zero help, zero interest in helping once attention was pulled away from the book, and the prices are through the roof. Could have been three stars if the price is were low enough to to offset the disheveled stock and apathetic staff.

I found the owner pleasant and helpful. We had a nice chat. When I'm back in the Cape Cod area, I'll be back.

I met the owner a week or so ago with a treasured afghan my deceased mother had made 20 years ago. My daughter’s new puppy found it and chewed a hole in the middle. It was a very complicated afghan with many types of stitches. She miraculously matched the yarn, determined the stitch to match, and meticulously repaired the Afghan to its former glory. Took her less than a week. Amazing! I will be eternally grateful.
