Better selection elsewhere. But they do have some gourmet items. Wine I bought was mediocre.

Poor selection, unfamiliar vineyards, overpriced merchandise, and under informed staff. Only plus is its great location. I almost never post an unfavorable review, but this warrants one. Very disappointed.

Very clean nice little shop. Lots of wine options. Handful of liquor which I guess they recently just got their license so when looking for a certain tequila (espolon) they did not have. The liquor is definitely pricey - i'd say more than your Kappy's or Total Wine. Got this purple Empress gin that changes color when you add certain things. Has a couple cooler doors of beer - your average stuff. I tried finding a cider I liked but nothing called to me. Friendly staff.

I was the only customer in the store on a Sunday afternoon. Walked through the store for about 10 minutes. Apparently the staff had more pressing issues on their phones than providing any customer service. Not what I expected.

Great go-to for wine, higher end wines to lower end- can’t go wrong finding something you’ll like!

The store owner/employee was very nice and helpful, and I was able to find what I was looking for with his help, too. Also, just as a cool thing that I liked seeing, the receipt for my purchase could only be provided to me digitally (through text, email, or no receipt choices), which I thought was great for a no-waste solution.

It may be a nice shop if you visit in person, but don't bother to try to arrange a delivery through Beacon Hill Wine & Gourmet. I called on Wednesday to have a bottle of champagne delivered to a client 4 minutes away from the shop. They said they couldn't do it Wednesday, but could Thursday. I set it up and paid and said it absolutely must be delivered Thursday. Welp, Thursday came and went and they totally no showed. No call, no text, just no show. Friday they called me to try to get the delivery done, but at that point it was too late and my client was gone. The owner had the audacity to blame the delivery driver instead of taking responsibility for the mistake. I had wanted to support a local small business instead of going through Drizly or Total Wine for this, but I'll never be buying through Beacon Hill Wine & Gourmet again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone for delivery

I will never shop in this store ever again and would NEVER recommend to anyone based on the ZERO star customer service experience that I received. I went there on a chilly Sunday evening . The cashier had placed my items in a thin plastic bag. I had a few glass items and didn’t want them to fall out of the bag, so I requested that he wrapped the glass items and put it in a paper bag instead(what I thought was a simple request). This cashier snapped and said to me "when you go to Shaws, do they wrapped your stuff in paper ".i was just shocked and replied that this was not Shaws and was confused about this statement. He could have just said no. Then raised his voices at us and said that this was a "part time job for him and that he works full time as a teacher and that he didn’t have time for this". Mind you all of the this was because I wanted the glass items to be wrapped in paper to avoid them from being broken and fall out of the thin small plastic bag. As an entrepreneur myself, love supporting small businesses especially because of the pandemic has been hard on everyone. I understand that burnout exist, but I don’t want a side of disrespect as part of that experience. This store said that their employees are an extension of them. If this is the case, go somewhere else to for better service or stick to online stores like D'Artagnan and Le panier français instead of that place. It will save you the headache.

Even on what has to be one of the busiest days of the year, Christmas Eve, quality of service was still outstanding. Yes the store was crowded, which I expected. What I didn't expect was a place staffed enough, during these tough times, that you felt like you had the store to yourself. One of her reps immediately jumped in to help me with specific wine selections, and if it was a wine she wasn't familiar with, she grabbed a rep that was. They offered to hold it at the register if I still wanted to shop, which I did. I spotted their awesome candy and unique gift tables and when I picked up the caramel shots, YES, caramel shots, a rep let me know how fantastic they are. So I grabbed up 3 bags and moved on. Then the incredible hand painted wine glasses, another rep helped and assured me I could mix them, and did not need to buy 4 of the same. Seriously outstanding personal service and never once did I feel rushed or pushed to make a purchase. Rebecca and her team I can honestly say are consistent with great, first class service. Melrose is truly blessed to have them in our town.
