Should be called the US Closed Office, because it’s never open. All the lights are on but the door is locked at 10am on a Monday.

The worst post office in America probably
I have a P.O. Box and need to get to my mail in the morning then go to work they are supposed to be open at 7:30 am but they open when they get there which I’ve come back at 10:am and they still haven’t opened. This week I’ve come 3 days Monday, Thursday and today Friday and it’s close to 8 am and no one in sight. I have to go to work now because I can’t show up when I decide. Yeah they truly are the worst
it’s like a third world operation
But my bill for the box which has gone up considerably in the last 5 years from approximately $120 a year now to over $250 a year has to be paid on time. so rules apply to everyone except them. They truly should be privatized.

Worst Post Office ever. They never open on time and when they do it's just 1 person behind the counter and a line out the door because they work like snails here. 0 stars

Sometimes the line can be quite long with only one person behind the counter. Not much parking. Closes at 5pm.

The older woman who works at the desk to the right was very rude, even though I was polite and nice. If you don’t like your job, get another.

I never had a bad experience at this post office for almost 6 last years. To avoid a queue, it's better to consider the busy times shown in the graph above.

So here it is Wednesday morning 8/28/24 at 7:48 and post office which supposedly opens at 7:30 am is still locked and closed! It’s funny how two people( total left wingers guaranteed) who were standing outside with packages left in a huff! But this is the standard mediocrity and unaccountability that you get when you keep voting for morons! Ye reap what ye sow!

TLDR: be nice to USPS employees and they’ll always be nice to you. Be patient and treat people with respect and you’ll never encounter an attitude from the staff.
Living in Melrose, this is the post office I most frequent and have never had an issue with any staff or packages I’ve shipped from this Post Office. While people complain of the long lines you may experience if you stop in midday, this is typical of all post offices.

Horrendous service from this guy named Rob. My wife went to ship a package along with my 2 year old. The package needed some tape to be put around. Rob asked my wife to go out of the line and buy $4 tape just needed to close the package. On a different day, this time my wife again went to drop a package and was in the line Rob was serving, as soon as my wife reaches to the front of line he closed the counter and asked her to move to next counter. My wife felt his behavior to be targeted towards her due her color and sex and don't want to visit this location again.

Small cute office with only one clerk. The line grows really quickly, bear in mind that sometimes they leave for lunch and lock the door. That's around 12-1:30 pm. The clerk was not friendly to me at all in fact he was rude when I ordered a service. He acted like he didn't want me to buy the service and was only friendly to the people he knew. But that was my experience. Otherwise it's not too bad of a post office. Most people in this town are friendly. Also I think 5 bucks for a sig return is ridiculous!Updated: So I visited this PO again and the same man behind the counter was horrible. He is completely unhinged. I asked to add insurance to a package he started to scream at me, threw my box at me, and said I was being entitled. Emm, how am I entitled to ask for a service they provide? This is the worst experience and I would not recommend this place due to this guys behavior. Melrose is a great town but this guy has issues.

I am not typically someone that likes to write bad reviews but the service was awful today from the lady who serve me. I understand that this is USPS and I am not expecting more than economy-style service. However, when I asked some questions about shipping the lady could not have been more rude. I understood she needed more information from me but you would think by the way she answered that I had asked her to donate a kidney instead of asking her simple questions about shipping. I wish I had read the reviews first before visiting this location. I would honestly go to any other USPS location in New England just to avoid this one.
