They have everything like cute decor, candy, clothes, phone cases, journals, and random stuff you did not even know you needed. One thing I appreciate about this location is how well-stocked it usually is. I rarely have trouble finding what I need, and if I do, the staff is always around to help out. Their customer service is definitely a highlight and makes every shopping trip feel positive. However, the checkout process is where things could be a bit smoother. I wish I could use the self-checkout on my own, as it would make the whole experience faster and more convenient. I understand that the setup might be due to specific store policies, but it would be great if they could find a way to balance those with customer convenience. Even so, it’s not a deal-breaker, just something to consider. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot to shop, and I always leave with something fun.”

I've walked by it many times not noticing, today I entered a warm and inviting place, not only was it a good store, when I was short on a pack of smokes I was kindly allowed to bring my dollar and change later... In times such as these we need more places like this with more people like that behind the counter. I will try to do all my small item shopping here. Great experience....”
Dollar General opened its 20,000th U.S. store on February 24th in Alice, Texas. It’s a major milestone for the discount chain that started as one small general store back in 1955. Starting with a ribbon cutting ceremony, the grand opening celebration began at 9am. First customers received some freebies - tote bags filled with free product samples and snacks from DG's Clover Valley brand.
