Open Seasonally: mid-April - October, evenings in October for The Great Jack O'Lantern Journey, and evenings late November through December for Winter Wonderland Southwick's Zoo is New England's Largest Zoo! Southwick's spans 200 acres and is home to over 850 animals representing 160 species including white rhinos, chimpanzees, lions, tigers, giraffes, and more. Southwick's offers educational and entertaining shows as well as the EARTH Discovery Center, deer forest, skyfari sky ride, Woodlands Express Train Ride, Within the Wild Carousel, Soaring Eagle Zipline, a full-service restaurant (Galliford's Restaurant and Tavern), and more. This privately owned accredited zoo opened in 1965 and remains family owned and operated.
Fun little zoo, not huge but good for little kids. I recommend the skyfari ride. I especially like the deer enclosure where you can feed the deer. Food and drinks are expensive, but lots of animals your able to view up close.

Overall a nice experience. Wear good walking shoes. Enjoyed our lunch at the restaurant there. Bring quarters if you want to feed the animals. Lots of shade and allowed to bring in your own water.

Had a wonderful time at the zoo. Definitely will go earlier next time to see all the animals.
