When I moved to Milford in 2018, I needed a reliable mechanic. Like many others, I assumed most auto repair shops might try to overcharge you, but you put up with it because you have no choice. However, I quickly realized this shop is different, and it has completely changed my perception of what a trustworthy repair shop looks like.
As long as I live in Massachusetts—no matter where—I will only come here. Over the years, I’ve brought all of my children's cars (six cars between four kids), my wife’s car, and my own cars here for servicing. Every single time, the experience has been exceptional. The manager, Rich, is fantastic. Even though the shop is always busy, he and the team make me and my family feel like we’re their most important customers.
When I first started coming here, I tested their honesty. I already knew what was wrong with my daughter’s car but didn’t want to drive 50 miles to my usual mechanic. I played dumb and let them take a look. They came back with an accurate diagnosis, matching exactly what I already knew. They could have easily tacked on unnecessary repairs to inflate the bill, but they didn’t. That kind of honesty was refreshing.
A few months later, my other daughter’s car needed work, and this time, I dealt with the owner, Ray. After fixing the car, we had a conversation, and he shared how much he values his reputation in the community. He explained that he doesn’t want to walk around town with his family and have someone recognize him as “the guy who ripped me off at the repair shop.” That level of integrity stuck with me.
It’s disheartening when I see new customers come in defensive, assuming they’ll be taken advantage of, but I understand where they’re coming from. If I could, I’d tell every one of them, “You don’t have to worry here. These guys are the real deal—honest, reliable, and genuinely good people.”
Sorry for the long post, but this shop deserves all the praise it gets!

Nice to do business with honest people. They don't push repairs unless you really need it. Repairs are done quick, always try their best to fit you in at the earliest possible

Great honest people, seem like the crowd favorite from everyone who goes there. WAY better experience than all the places I've been too the past few years. Definitely recommend. Rich is a great dude. They won't really leave you guessing or worried when you leave or when your there.

Can't say enough...Great service, Great price, fraction of the cost of dealer repairs. Ray has always taken care of whatever issues I've had with my vehicles. I've also purchased several vehicles from Ray throughout the 20 years I've know him. Ray is a stand-up guy,trustworthy, honest & and straight shooter. Rare traits this day and age where everyone is just out there trying to make a buck. I know when I leave my vehicles with Ray & his staff that the job will be completed timely, accurately & affordable. Hands down the best garage for all your automotive needs!!

Ray's Auto guys do great job with auto repairs. Had several tires in the last year that either needed hole repairs or complete replacement, and Ray and crew always deliver, best quality work and at the best price in town.

I had a nail in my tire and I pulled in to Ray's. They dropped what they were doing to fix the issue and get me back on the road asap. Super friendly and excellent service. I have been using Ray's for almost 20 years and never been disappointed.

Honest is not something that can usually be said about a mechanic. You hear the stories about mechanic's trying to sell you all kinds of things that you don't really need and charging crazy prices but NOT RAY'S! They are honest, knowledgeable, and ALWAYS put their customers safety first! I wouldn't bring my cars to anyone else!

Ray's is truly the best place for Tires, inspections or anything we need fixed on our cars. Rich is always ready to help us in a pinch. My son was going to College down south the past 4 years and if we needed anything done last minute they fit us in right away. Price is always right and the service is top notch. It's hard to recommend alot of places these days but I would recommend over any other shop for Car repair etc... Give them a try . You won't be disappointed.

"a customer came in that had some work done at Rays Automotive in Milford. First off the invoice had no pricing on it, just had a total amount. Second off they repaired a brake line for them and used a compression fitting which is illegal to use on brake lines. The line is only about 24inches long and should have been replaced and not patched with a compression union. Also after charging them $700 to fix that line and replace their rear brakes they then proceeded to tell them the back end of the car was so rotted that it is unsafe to drive. Their first response was why did you repair the brakes if the car is that rotted?. After arguing with them they took their car and Ray's told her they are not responsible if the car breaks down and leaves them stranded. They proceeded to call me and asked if I could put the car on the lift and inspect it. After putting the car up and seeing the compression union I had the customer come look. I pointed out the fitting and how it is illegal. Explained that they should have replaced the whole line. Then showed them that the car is not rotted and not unsafe. Informed the customer I would have no problem driving their car anywhere. They are furious and are going to have me replace the line with the fitting. So for everyone who rants and raves how amazing Rays Automotive is, double check the work they are doing."
