Designed by the Boston-based architectural firm Shepley, Rutan, and Coolidge, the library has seen additions in 1956 and 2009, maintaining the original aesthetic while incorporating modern features like floor-to-ceiling glass on the top story. The library is described as a great spot for research, learning, and exploration, especially for children. The staff, including the librarians, are generally praised for their helpfulness, though one older librarian with short dark hair and thick glasses is noted to be rude. The facility offers a variety of amenities, such as a kids' section with a train table and computers with games, as well as a fish tank, comfortable study areas, and an outdoor space with a beautiful view. Overall, the Milton Public Library is considered an excellent, welcoming, and versatile community resource, with a wide range of offerings and a well-maintained historic building.
