“Overall terrific experience. The staff were knowledgeable friendly and professional and took care of any issues that came up. The room was perfect and well appointed and was just what we were looking for. The hotel was decorated and appointed perfectly along with a generous continental breakfast in the morning with multiple options. In the evening there were a good selection of snacks and drinks to choose from. Overall we would give a 10 including the staff,room and the hotel itself.”

“My mom and I stayed at the Carlisle House Inn and it was nothing short of lovely. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and cared for. One of our favorite touches was the complimentary s’mores night—complete with cozy blankets and a beautifully maintained fire pit out back. It created the perfect atmosphere to unwind.
The rooms were pristine—immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail reflected the care the staff puts into maintaining the inn.
The hospitality throughout our stay was outstanding. Everyone we interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely attentive. Breakfast each morning was just right—fresh, delicious, and served in a relaxed, inviting setting.
The location was also ideal—less than a 10-minute walk from the center of town, and just a 20-minute walk to Jetties Beach. It was the perfect balance of peaceful and convenient.
This inn is a true gem on Nantucket. We’re already talking about coming back!”

“We have been to Nantucket 4 or 5 times. We love this place so much, it is the only place we stay. Amanda, Richard, Nick were all so Wonderful. We go to relax and rest a little. It is Beautiful, clean and so comfortable. We love that 21 Broad is so close to everything. All of the restaurants in the town are walkable. We try to go to a different restaurant each time. We do have favorites. Love, love it!
Rooms: Everything you need and then some. Beds were very confortable, clean. Such a Great place!
Safety: Feel so comfortable walking around day or evening.”

“Great place to stay in Nantucket! My room was clean and adorable; only nitpicks were that the bathroom was across the hall (which I was expecting) and there was no elevator up to my room. Only access was 2 sets of steep staircases. Understandable, since the hotel was in a converted historical building. Outside of that, my stay was great. Breakfast was a nice mix of pastries and some protein. Location was perfect - close to lots of shops and restaurants in the center of town. Sleep quality was good. No noise from the street. I would not hesitate to stay here again!”

“I absolutely love it. I’ve only stayed one night out of three so far but needed to rush here to leave a 5 star review because of the amazing night of sleep. I haven’t slept that good in months. It was quiet and the pillows and mattresses actually made my back feel better after years of severe pain. I MUST know what brand of mattress and pillows you use! I will buy some immediately. I’ll be back!”

“I visited for 2 nights with my girlfriend, and we truly loved this hotel. The grounds and building are beautiful, the room was classy and spacious, and the staff were extremely friendly. They offer coffee and pastries in the lobby every morning, port wine and cheese in the evenings. They have bikes to borrow for free, including helmets. They will also drive you or pick you up from anywhere in town. Lastly, they will let you borrow one of the hotel BMWs for 1-2 hours if you want to test drive it anywhere on the island. Really a great hotel with lots of thoughtful extras.”

“We just returned from our annual Nantucket Christmas trip and our third year in a row at The Brass Lantern. The inn is lovely, rooms clean and comfortable, and little touches like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available as well as fresh cookies every afternoon. Innkeeper Sharon sees to every detail… she’s the best! We are always pleased with our stay, and will return every year.”
