I want to write a review of the Citizens Master credit card, not the bank. The bank is good. The branch manager and the other members are mostly friendly and helpful. It is important for all businesses to have friendly and helpful staff that make the customers feel welcome and comfortable. It will help the business to flourish too, no doubt.Sometimes a banker would send me an email recommending their products and services. One time they suggested that I open a credit card account. I agreed.The first time I used the card to make a purchase of a coffee pot at Amazon, my Citizens Master card blocked it. But I did not know that until Amazon notified me that the credit card declined payment. I had to place the order again with a different card.Concurrently, I got an email from Citizens Master Card saying there was a suspicious transaction causing the card to be blocked. I was puzzled. Why was buying a coffee pot on Amazon a suspicious transaction? I called the customer service department of Citizens Master Card. The conversation dismayed me. Not only did the woman not explain why buying a coffee pot was a suspicious transaction, but she was impatient, annoyed, and downright rude. I asked her whether I could use the card the next time without being blocked. She did not answer it. The only thing she said was that she would let the card go through for the Amazon order. However, I already paid for it with another card. So, that call did not help me at all. In the following months, I tried to use it again at Home Depot, Amazon, and grocery stores. It was blocked most of the time. I didn't understand what caused it. I have never had that experience with other cards. Since the Citizens Master Card is not the only card that I have, I don't need the trouble they are making me. So, after calling their customer service one more time, I cut up the card.

I had a horrible experience here. The brand Manager (D112455) is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. She insisted on giving me a hard time witch I completely understand considering I'm not exactly the bank's demographic. The lady whose name I didn't get admitted she was having a bad day prior to me and was dealing with rude people all day. Why is that my problem? Fast forward I tried to make a deposit so I can be on my way. She insist on telling me how bank drop should and should not be done. Everything she was saying was completely valid however everything goes out the window when your rude to someone. Then expect some sort of decency in return. Yes I loss my cool but that was only after continuing being badgered about something I understood the 1st couple of times she told me. She even told me I was pissing her how off or something to that nature. I understand I'm not the bank's demographic which is why everyone ignored her juvenile behavior and piled on me. It's almost like she baited me to react so that she did t have to help me. The most unfortunate part is when the other teller who I have never had a problem with in the past jumps to her defense after witnesses her being rude to me first. Why should I expect professionalism after all it is a bank. I can care less about the respect or not. I make decent money and I've gain respect from all the RIGHT people. The reason I'm leaving the review is because the teller/manager (D112455) genuinely is probably convincing the other staff that she was the victim of some guy who lost his cool. The reality of the situation is she had no real intentions on ever helping me out and her unwarranted dementor towards me was evidence of it. Lastly she ended messing up my deposit, I didn't realize until I returned to my store. She was on such a power trip she told me I was a dollar short, I realize once I returned to my store that I was in-fact not a dollar short and now my daily deposit is over. To the bank teller/manager I truly hope you only treat people who look like me this way because you and I both know that your behavior would not have been accepted had it been someone else. To the other manager/teller who told me to "get out" without even properly assess the situation because you judge me by my appearance and realize that you could get away with talking to someone who is supposed to be considered a customer, good luck to you both.

the branch manager and another bank teller were extremely nice and professional! this location is clean and open, although quite small. i suggest making an appointment. also the ATM machine was having issues

Why is a bank closed on New Years? There was no notice at the door, the directory also didn’t mention that they would not be open today. Terrible.

They send letters to convince me open new account with awesome bonus, I worked with an agent in the bank and followed all their recommendations, but they don't pay the bonus. first, it was not automatically deposited to my account, like any other bank. second, after I called them several times for follow up, they said I have to wait another 90 days to get the bonus. after additional 90 days passed, they did whatever they can to put blame on me that I didn't follow their guidance.I have seen this happen to other people. the bonus is all lies. they never pay it. I had similar situation with other banks and they automatically paid on-time, without any follow ups.

I really like Citizens Bank. They have many branches in many locations including inside Stop and Shops open late! Easy and pleasant folks that try to go out of their way to help and make transactions easy. Good choice for me.

Terrible experience. Total waste of time. I had a quick question pertaining to that particular location, called in the middle of the day after lunch hours, 2pm on Thursday. No one picked up. I called back about 10 min later - was told to hold. 14min on hold! I hung up of course. Have being Citizens client for over 15 years - this was the worst service, or should I say lack thereof.

My first experience with this location's drive up teller was not good. I went without my debit card to get cash. Although she was very kind, all she asked for was my name and my address and gave me the cash without asking for any other information to verify I was who I said I was. 6 months or so later, I come here in a pinch and go to the drive up teller because there weren't any parking spots. No body was there so I pushed the call button.... Nothing. Push it again and a gentleman comes motioning me to calm down. After asking him if I could get cash with my debit card, he states it is easier if I just come inside. I just left. Annoyed and not going back here.

I moved here from Fort Lauderdale and wanted a local Bank Account. I went to this Citizens Bank Newton Branch and I am so glad I did. I spoke with Maria Hassan and she was terrific. She is very sweet. She showed me all my options and I settled on the one that is just right for me. She made me feel super comfortable and I got the feeling I was putting my money in the right bank! If you meet her you will feel the same way! She is adorable and very easy to talk to...I wish she wasn't working that day because we could have talked all day!! When you have such a great rapport with someone as I did with her, it makes doing business easy...especially when it comes to your money!!

The staff here are very friendly and easy to work with. There were two bilingual staff (Chinese and Russian) members that were helping customers on the day I went in. Also, the convenience of drive through banking and two well-lit ATMs is very helpful! Location in Newton Centre is great as there are a plethora of restaurants right around the corner!
