Cold Spring Park is one of the nicest and absolutely terrific parks, very large and much larger than you think. It offers a wonderful experience with simple trails for walking, dog walking, or a refreshing hike. The park features a great walking loop in convenient proximity to town with wide paths, mostly under the shade of trees so it is cool on a hot day. It is both family-friendly and dog-friendly, with a fantastic, open grassy area dedicated as a small dog park. The trails are well-kept, though they can get a little muddy after wet weather, with some accumulation of water during rainy seasons. One area has a somewhat steep dirt path, now improved with stairs for better accessibility. The park provides a serene and beautiful escape with many benches for sitting and listening to the birds chirping. It is very peaceful and a beautiful area for a pleasant outdoor outing, picnic on the grass, or eating lunch. Amenities include tennis courts, basketball courts, a very large soccer field, a softball field, an exercise structure, and water ponds and streams. Weekly summer farmers markets take place from June to October. There is also a pollinator garden and always easy parking. It is a favorite walk and a great local park, recommended for all from old to young, and a wonderful place to get involved in the community.
