Down Under is an absolute gem. Impeccably clean and diverse in its offerings, it's a haven for yogis of all levels. The knowledgeable instructors provide guidance that's both enlightening and accessible, while the staff's warmth and genuine care foster a strong sense of community. From my very first visit, I've felt like part of a close-knit family. This studio isn't just a place to practice yoga; it's a transformative sanctuary where wellness, diversity, and a welcoming atmosphere come together seamlessly. My journey with Down Under has been nothing short of amazing, and I can't wait to see where it takes me next. Namaste!

The Newton studio has such a charm to it! When you enter the space, it is welcoming and grounding. A perfect environment to practice yoga. I also love that everyone chats before and after classes, making it feel more like a community.

Whenever I want to go to a yoga class every once in a while down under is a good option. It's not my regular yoga studio but great for pop ins every once in a while. I usually stick to the flow classes that are not heated. I find the heated classes to be extremely hot and uncomfortable for me. This could be because I'm used to doing unheated yoga so if you are into hot yoga you would probably enjoy the hot classes. I have tried a few non vinyasa/flow classes that have not been my favorite. The instructors are all super nice though. And classes are usually completely full.

Down Under is a great community. They offer a wide variety of classes at a wide variety of times. The space is always clean and inviting. I've shopped around at several yoga studios in the Boston area and found a Down Under to fit the bill!

Just not my vibe at all. I'm sure this is a great studio for some (maybe even a lot?) of people but I just didn't like it. The class I took was supposed to be a challenging hot yoga class, but the room was barely warm and the class was very easy and pretty boring. Also, several people in the class smelled very, very strongly of weed. I really don't care what anyone does, but it's not cool to come to yoga smelling like weed (or alcohol, strong perfume, etc.). If it was just one person, I would have let it go, but it was multiple people and it was STRONG. To sum it up, class was far easier than advertised and the room smelled like weed. If that's your thing, great. Go for it. Otherwise, maybe look elsewhere.

I had an amazing first experience! I took Braxton’s hot power flow and loved it. He spoke about uniting as a community and sharing practice together in this space. The front desk staff were helpful and attentive. Jennifer was so great, she signed me up for my 30430 and showed me around.I love leaving my shoes at the door before descending down the stairs into such amazing amazing atmosphere.See you tomorrow!

I went to a Pilates class at 8am Sunday morning. There were about 6 people in studio, several others on zoom. They allowed us to be mask free while on the Mat. The teacher was excellent. The last two comments will get me to return. Thank you.

I attended an in-studio live class at the end of May 2021 days before the mask ban and covid restrictions were lifted statewide, because I was fully vaccinated. I attended class with other masked practitioners and the teacher.I was a bit taken aback by how dirty the studio was. The floor was covered in dust and debris, and it wasn’t from a previous class. Looking around at the baseboards, they were caked in dust and dirt. It was clear they are broom cleaning, at best.45 minutes into the class, the teacher got up and said “it’s getting a little hot in here, let’s turn on the air.” I thought to myself, “how has the ventilation system not been on this entire time?! We are in a global pandemic with an airborne virus, and we’re in a closed room with no air circulation?” I was shocked.I did not go back again and will not go back, based on this studio’s acceptable level of cleanliness and consideration level for their staff and clients health.I waited two weeks to write this review, to see if my thoughts on this changed or diminished with time, but they have not. I’ve thought about this experience a lot since my visit and think it’s important to give others my perspective who are considering going to or returning to this studio.
