The hotel is sitting over a highway. It's so loud in all the rooms. Other employees of mine didn't sleep the first night because of it. And the employees are the farthest thing from friendly or hospitable. I have one of the highest lifetime statuses at the Marriotts. And the way I was treated was like I just walked off the street. There are many things that were done wrong. I can't list them all here.

The noise from the highway is impossible to manage. I am a good sleeper and do not have any problems. I spent two nights here and it was tough. I was on the 6 floor. Noise is constant over there.
Plus, hotel staff is unfriendly. Not worth the price. They are charging Boston prices for Newton location.
I would not recommend.

We had our recent HS reunion here and had a great time! They were very accommodating to us. We talked to them at length about many of the details and they actually dropped their estimate for our final bill. The food was great. I only wished that they had better options for the wine and beer selection at the ballroom event, but since there was a full service bar/restaurant about 100' from the ballroom it didn't really matter. Another weird thing was that they have a lounge right next to the ball room that I had expected to stay open, but was shut down for most of the weekend. Anyway, for this event it was a perfect choice: easy access to Newton and Boston, fully updated in 2020, great service and friendly staff. Thank you for such a great time!

Ok, I’ve stayed here before and was underwhelmed. I thought I’d try to give them another chance on a weekday visit. Our weekend visit had the hotel smelling like pot. Doesn’t the $200 cleaning fee discourage this?
The staff were not friendly (I’m usually thanked for being an Marriott Platinum Elite member) and the parking over priced. I complained about the people parking for more than 15 minutes in the “free spots” and was told there was nothing they could do.
The Sociale Bar is probably its own saving grace. Great staff and great drinks.
Upon checking out, I wasn’t asked, “how was your stay”. If I was, I would’ve told them about the HAIR I found in the eggs in the breakfast buffet.
I’ll look for another Marriott property nearby next time.

Old and in need of an update the furniture is from another decade, the elevators rattle and shake. The hotel sits over Mass Turnpike, and the traffic noise is constant. This place is more like a highway motel than a Marriott property. The only redeeming quality is the staff are all very nice.

Very comfy hotel with inviting lobby that had different places to sit. Coffee and teas on tap with hot water.
Located close to bus stops so you can easily get to downtown boston next to all attractions.

Decent hotel. Convenient next to the freeway, if you have a rental car. Drive in to Boston is usually less than 20 minutes. Main thing lacking was a hot tub.

12th floor has great view of Newton and is the quietest. Heard no highway sound. The room was spacious and clean. Great and relaxing stay.
$28 per day for parking
$19 per day for breakfast

Room was nice albeit overpriced, but so was everything else in the area. Service was great, staff was very professional and friendly. Bed was comfortable.
The two stars are because there was a used washcloth hanging in my shower and the shampoo bottle mounted in the shower (kudos for not using the tiny disposable bottles) was completely out, so I used body wash for my hair the first morning. I let them know and it was refilled, though I'm about 90% sure the shampoo bottle was just filled with body wash, they were both clear and colorless and smelled the same.
Parking fees got all messed up, take care if you'll be parking on site. I was given a ticket for in/out access the first night of three that I was there, but the second morning it said it had expired and I had to pay $28 to get out. I got a new ticket from the desk when I returned. My bill had $20/day for parking, so I went and explained what I had paid for and they took off two days of parking. When I finally checked out, I saw the parking credit on the first page of my invoice, but the second page showed that $35/night of the room charges were allotted for parking, so I was essentially double charged for parking. Check your bill carefully. I called and left a message for accounting and they credited me the difference.
The in room air unit said it was controlled by the wall thermostat but was actually controlled on the unit itself. I hadn't even tried to open the flap with the sign on it directing me to the wall controller, so I got to feel a bit stupid when the technician came up and showed me that. :-/
Windows were really dirty.
For the inflated rates at the time of year I was there (early September), I expected better.
Here's a picture of the very dirty windows.
