Company should work on improving the waiting system.We have filled out an order online. We have received a message to pickup, after arriving we are now in a wait list for 2 hours in front of us is people who want to buy stuff or want to rent... their IT department should be fired for not being able to optimize the wait-list system...

Check in system is terrible. Some lady is sitting there at a podium up front. I use the QR code to check in. She doesn't tell me to go in. The queue counter says I'm two away, talk to my kid, look back down and it tells me to log back in. I had to check in two more times. I got fed up and walked into the main store and after some putzing around looking at stuff with my kid, do I hear my name faintly called by a cashier. In the middle of the store. I was maybe 8 feet from here and I barely heard her. There was no way people could hear her from the entrance.

We have been renting from here for 4 years. The staff I worked with are nice and professional . Most importantly, I could tell their passion for music, which was contagious.

Came to get kid a violin for school. We rented one. They have lots of choices and rent routinely. Have 3 6 9 12 month rental plans and se pretty flexible in regards to sizing up and trade in etc. Of course they go other string jnstruments too. Not 5 stars cuz the service was little passive. We entered. There were like 4 ppl at counter. No hello. No how can we help you. No real eye contact. Trust me. I like to test ppl. So i just stood there on purpose and stared right at them. 45secs. Straight. Seeing to see how they would react. Nothing. They acted like shuffling paper and talked to each other about the wknd beer festival.So i had to go up and say so. What do i have to do to get a violin here? Thats why this is 4 stars. No proactive service. But once asked they helped out. That day. Mostly young adults were manning the counter. Kinda like a starbucks. Maybe thats why the service was “passive”. Generational.

I ordered a musician’s chair middle of last week; had questions which Joe answered for me plus he willingly took my order over the phone. Try to do that on Amazon ! Within the hour received notification that my order had shipped, arrived at my residence in Florida this morning. Great service.

Great selection and tons of expertise. Went for a step up viola bow for my son. Pleased with the options presented and with the time and space available for trying the merchandise. Kids, students, adults and pros would all, I think, feel welcome and well served.

Johnston string is one of the best places to rent and buy quality violins. we tried Johnson string after trying a violin on amazon. The quality and upkeep of the instruments are phenomenal. They have a program to buy the violin you rent.

It’s all about customer service and Johnson’s has it down. Thanks for listening to us, and making it easy to rent a great, easy to manage instrument for my young cellist! The practicing part is the hard part and is definitely our job, but it at least we don’t have to worry about the instrument. Thanks Johnson Strings!

My three kids have been all renting voilin from Johnson string, but the experience I had yesterday was very upsetting. I walked into the store to get the bridge on the rental voile fixed. There was a lady named “Xiao” at the front desk, she was not helping anybody while everybody else was helping other customers, I was waiting and waiting, she didn’t intent to help me while she was obviously free. And I tried yo talk to her, she had no response, it is quite weird feeling that she is treating me like an air, she obviously knew that I was waiting, but no words, no reaction. I tried a few more times to talk to her, she still had no response at all.it caught other employees’ attention. They all looked at her and had the confusing expression on their face. Finally one of the employee volunteered to help me out, it only took 2 mins. I visited the store too many times to count. Everybody else was super helpful and welcoming except for Xiao. I don’t think she should work there in that attitude. She obviously has issue going on and threw it to the customer.

Thee place to go for string instruments and supplies. Rented for a few years until we finally purchased. Always helpful and was quick and easy to get strings replaced when they broke on a rental.
