Marquis Jewelers was unable to stand by a ring that was custom made for me when within 9 months the main diamond fell out and was lost. The diamonds were from my mother's engagement ring from more than 65 years ago and while it wasn't particularly valuable from a financial standpoint, it did hold significant sentimental value. I'm a white collar desk job worker. I don't handle heavy equipment nor work in professions that are heavy manual labor. So it was a shock to me when I discovered the diamond had fallen out. Soon after, I took the ring in for them to take a look expecting a better experience than I received from them. Not once did the owner, Mark, ask my name nor look up the invoice for the ring's construction. He never addressed me personally. And only well into our discussion did he offer what I would describe as an attempt at an apology and barely much of an effort to acknowledge the sentimental nature of the loss. His first action was to pull out a range of new diamonds to see which one fit the missing diamond's location on the ring. He finally found a diamond that fit and told me the price--there was no apparent offer to provide any discount--just a price to fix the ring. He included a suggestion that he seat the ring differently in a bevel of sorts which he said the diamond would never fall out with this kind of setting. This prompted me to think, after the fact, why didn't he use that setting approach in the first place. It was the shoddy workmanship I believe that is at the core of why the diamond fell out--not wear and tear. I reminded him again that I'm not a guy who does much of anything different than many men in regular day to day life. When I first brought in my mother's old ring, it was after it had sat in a drawer for more than 20 years until at this Marquis jeweler's suggestion I set the diamonds in a men's ring. I took him up on the suggestion assuming the diamonds would be set carefully and able to withstand day to day wear. I don't often hear of diamonds falling out of women's engagement rings. I just can't help but wonder why the diamonds I brought in couldn't have been set more securely. He gave me the final price. And I explained as I turned to walk out that I guess I'll just put the ring back in the same drawer again which is what I should have kept doing because if I had I'd still have diamonds today. And the owner of Marquis Jewelers still didn't ask my name or treat me personally. What a shame. Marquis Jewelers commercials are ever present on the airwaves. I would tread lightly.

Website has plenty of options, and the store has exactly what I want in stock; the owner gave me a great discount, and I picked it up on the same day too. Great store; would definitely come back again!

My son bought his girlfriend now fiancés ring at Marquis. The ring is amazing. So beautiful ?. The staff were amazing. So helpful and knowledgeable about my son’s wants and budget. Last Christmas, my son bought her a necklace at Marquis with the same feeling of satisfaction. Thank you to Amy and her parents for helping my son marry his love.

Did some last minute holiday jewelry shopping here and was highly impressed with the customer service, knowledgeable associates and warm, welcoming atmosphere. I always support local, family run businesses when given the choice and they bent over backwards to ensure that my ring was sized in time for Christmas Eve. Excellent communication and high quality pieces and they made me feel prioritized and like a part of the family. Highly recommend to anyone who loves diamonds and five star customer service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I visited the store to have a Rolex watch looked at for possible sale. The gentleman was not very knowledgeable on high end watches. At retail a $12000 Rolex watch was worth $3400 , I don't think so...don't waste your time , go elsewhere!

Bad experience all around, similar to other comments. Owner was very rude and made what should be a nice experience very unpleasant.

SELLING VALUABLES AT MARQUIS... BEWARE!! I'd give a zero star if there was a choice. Having watched a constant barrage of TV ads enticing customers to sell their valuables at Marquis Jewelers, I stopped by to get price estimates before deciding to sell my gold jewelry. I brought in about 10 gold items like bracelets, chains, a pair of gold earrings, some silver jewelry, and two single gold earrings that had each lost their mates. Mark began testing the purity of my jewelry with a digital instrument and grouped them by 14, 18, and 24-karat gold. He then took each group to his secret back room for weighing, returned, put each batch in plastic bags, and scribbled numbers and codes on scraps of paper. Lastly, he went to his secret back room to weigh my 24-karat gold jewelry - taking longer this time than he did before (did about 3-4 times). Finally, when he returned, he totaled up all the scribbled amounts and came up with a lowball offer for all the jewelry; including my 24-karat gold jewelry. My decision was not to sell, so he dumped (all?) my jewelry onto the glass countertop very rudely. I took my jewelry from the glass countertop right away and put it into a velvet pouch that had a solid string tie. We came home only to realize, to our dismay, that one of my single gold earrings was missing. I looked and double-checked everywhere in my purse and pouch. There was NO WAY the earring would have fallen out of the pouch. I had made sure the pouch was tied very securely before putting it in my purse. The BIGGEST mistake was not having counted all the jewelry that Mark dumped on the glass countertop. We called Mark the next morning and mentioned one gold earring was missing. He remembered, but it was not there with him. He said he would check the scale in his secret back room again and call back. He did return the call only to reaffirm that he did not have the earring, saying that it must have fallen out from the pouch into my purse or something. NOT! I had already checked and rechecked my velvet pouch and the purse many times over and the earring was gone. Abracadabra... my gold earring had disappeared into thin air!

Don't waste your time, your money and endure an unpleasant experience; go to jewelry companies with a proven reputation and professional sellers. I have been there for some jewelry for my wife. The first question that Mr. Mark Rogozinski asked me was "what is your job?". Strange. Mr. Rogozinski moves too fast to the next step in the sales process, I felt that he doesn't give me time to think. At the beginning Mr. Rogozinski looked correct, but after showed me a few jewelries he started to look and sound frustrated. He began to make acidic comments. I feel uncomfortable and made the decision to leave the place. When I told him that "I will think about it", he lost his temper and said, "I hope I don't see you again, Goodbye!" One more thing: Marquis Jewelry sales at "ebay".

Went to Marquis Jewelers for the first time this week to get 2 chains lengthened as well as to buy a new one. Amy assisted me with the whole process. She was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable! Best part was the incredibly fair pricing, fast turn around, and not being ripped off. Other places I went to for lengthening were charging $100 plus. Marquis is my new place for all things jewelry and accessories. Thanks Amy!

I have the unfortunate responsibility to inform others of the shady business practices of Marquis Jewelry in Newton, MA. I was referred to Mark, the owner, by an elderly friend who has known him all his adult life and imagined that he was an honest man. I was in a position in which I needed cash for a car purchase, and I failed to read Mark's reviews in advance. That was a big mistake. With heavy advertising, this jeweler has a steady stream of customers bringing in their valuables to sell. There are also people purchasing what they think is new jewelry from the expansive showcases. When I went to Marquis Jewelry, there were people in line before and after me - a busy hectic scene. In his decades of hustling, the owner has perfected a formula to defraud customers. First, he disparages the customer. Then he tosses the gems around, pretends to test some for authenticity, and scribbles lots of indecipherable numbers on scrap paper - explaining that he is calculating the price of gold at that moment. Mark makes several trips to his secret back room - out of sight. He stuns the customer and then strikes, handing over a check for a fraction of the wholesale price of the gems. Mark is careful to get a signed statement from the seller that the goods were not stolen, for his protection. No itemized receipt - nothing but the discomfort of being taken. I immediately felt I was being scammed, but in the moment, was too astonished to speak up. Heartbroken about losing my Mother's and my own 14K Judaic jewelry collection, much of it purchased in Israel, I called Mark, to ask if I could exchange the paltry check he had given me for our jewelry. Mark told me it had already gone to "the refinery" to be melted down. He said "we don't sell the jewelry that we buy". Oddly, my valuables soon appeared in his showcase at astronomical prices. This business preys upon those who are elderly, poor, trusting, or easily intimidated. Buyers and Sellers beware!

I came to Marquis Jewelers for the first time and they are now my forever jeweler! They took the time to make sure I found exactly what I wanted after I had already been to many other places and couldn't find it. They special ordered a perfect piece at a reasonable price for me and I love it!
