I have been going here for years and I can't imagine going anywhere else. When I moved away from Newton, I was legitimately terrified of trying to find anywhere that was even half as good as these guys. Sam and Scott are easily two of the most pleasant people I have ever interacted with. They're knowledgeable and truly want to help their clients - not screw them over financially.
They'll tell you what's going on with your car and explain what your options are - explaining the purposes and reasoning. And unlike some garages, they'll tell you when work isn't necessary or when it can be put off - because they are good people.
When my car reached the end of its lifespan and it was time for a new one, I called up Sam, who goes to auctions often for their used car inventory, told him my budget and what I was hoping to find right down to the color (black cars mean better car cookies in the summer). He found one that matched the description perfectly, within the price window, and within a week I was trading in my old car and purchasing the car I have now, which I absolutely adore.
They're professional, honest, hard working and they get to know each person. I cannot speak highly enough about these guys, but I can say for certain if you're looking for a place that will treat you like a person who matters (regardless of car knowledge) and provide exceptional service - look no further. OTG is here for you.

Fantastic service and Sam is the best. He helped me on the spot with a quick fix. It felt like a neighborhood shop where they're looking out for your best interest - it was refreshing!
If I had gone to a dealership, it would have been scheduling, upfront price commitment just for coming in, just dealing with a sales intermediary, and then all sots of extras.
I will definitely be going back here for regular service. Thank you OTG!

Scott is great with what he does and is a really kind person. He not only fixed our car multiple times at reasonable price, but was so generous in giving suggestions for other car repair needs that he does not offer. Incredibly honest, explained every detail and reasoning for repair or why I can hold off for now. I have never felt more respected as a customer. OTG is not looking for your money, they are just looking to help you. Repair was quick (completed that day) and location was accessible by public transportation. I’ve been going to Sam at Old Time for close to 40 years. He’s an honest businessman and the people he employs are equally as great. Most everyone there is a longtime employee. That should tell you something.

Just relocated to the area and needed a reliable mechanic for routine maintenance. Very reasonable, quick to get my car in and out, and the guys here are very friendly. Honest shop that doesn't try and tell you to get stuff done to your car that you don't need, unlike some of the bigger service centers at dealerships.

A Toyota dealership told me that I needed new front struts and they were going to charge $1500. I took my car to this car garage for a second opinion after reading the Yelp reviews. The mechanic told me that while they were a little rusty, there was no safety issue and they didn't need to be replaced. Toyota made it seem like my car was going to fall apart if I didn't put new struts on my car immediately, My experience with this garage was consistent with all of the glowing reviews. I'm not from Massachusetts and I'm not Caucasian, so I'm not related to the owners or anything. I'm also a woman and any car-related business generally sees nothing but dollar signs when I walk in the door. This is a very trustworthy business. Thank you so much for taking a look at my car and giving me honest advice!
