“It an Eastern European (Russian, Ukrainian, Polish...) food store with a wide variety of groceries, meats, dairy, bakery, breads, vines and spirits...It is relatively expensive. There is a similar store in Cambridge Street in Brookline, and I like it more.”
“This place is a hidden gem. The staff are incredibly friendly and provide excellent service, making every visit feel welcoming. The food is consistently delicious, and what makes it even better is that you can do some quality Turkish grocery shopping at the same time. Their tea is especially outstanding—definitely worth trying. The location is very convenient, with plenty of parking and easy access. Highly recommend!”

“Such a friendly and nice place! The prices are great, and there’s an amazing variety of international foods to choose from. I always enjoy shopping here and highly recommend it.”
“I use their delivery service for a family member frequently.. the shopper's communication is perfect and accuracy is 90%! I rely on them and they always come through.. thank you!!”
“This looks and feels like a proper Eastern European grocery store. Few items have English-language labels, but you can easily find most anything and staff is exceedingly helpful. They make sandwiches in the back: here is the "Polish Combo" which resembles an Italian grinder but with four hams (one smoked) and three cheeses. It's NOT 'fast food', but you can order sandwiches then browse and shop casually.Great hours, too.”
“The only place I go for my meat when I’m in Boston, I have never had a problem with their meet quick service, my only problem is parking can be a problem especially the weekends.”
“Walking into this grocery store is like stepping into a well-organized haven of freshness, variety, and friendliness. Whether you’re doing a quick midweek run or a full stock-up for the family, this store makes the experience easy and even enjoyable. The layout is clean and intuitive, with clear signage that helps you find everything from fresh produce to international spices without any confusion.
One of the highlights is the produce section — vibrant fruits, crisp greens, and vegetables that actually look and feel fresh. It’s clear that the store prioritizes quality over quantity, and the turnover seems fast, which means nothing sits on the shelf too long. The meat and dairy sections are equally well-maintained, with clearly labeled expiration dates and helpful staff ready to assist if you need a special cut or recommendation.
What really makes this store stand out is the diverse selection. You’ll find everything from pantry staples to niche products you usually only see in specialty shops. Whether it’s organic, gluten-free, international ingredients, or local brands, there’s something for every lifestyle and dietary need.
The staff is exceptionally courteous and knowledgeable. Even when it’s busy, there’s a sense of calm and efficiency that makes checkout smooth. They’re happy to answer questions, help you find items, or even suggest cooking ideas.
Prices are competitive, and they frequently run promotions or offer loyalty discounts, which is a nice bonus for regular shoppers.
In short, this grocery store is more than just a place to shop — it’s a reliable, welcoming part of the community. You walk out with more than just bags of food; you leave feeling satisfied, supported, and confident in the quality of your purchases. A truly refreshing shopping experience from start to finish!”
“Aside from me standing infront of the restroom and being told no public bathroom in the establishment as a construction worker who works on sites sometime where there is no restroom sucked and that alone took one star away but will credit this place for the homecooked inexpensive meals tha churasco plate is a mush have.”
“Shoddy place, good people. This is a small grocery shop with a cooking station at the back. Groceries are mostly Arab style and they also have Halal meat. The food consists of a few dishes made daily and shawarma/sandwiches. Food is decent, nothing to write home about but It's great value.”
“Wollaston's Market is a convenience store and deli on the Northeastern University campus, and it functions as the kind of place that becomes a daily habit for students and staff in the surrounding area. The store covers the basics you would expect from a campus market, drinks, snacks, groceries, and a small pharmacy and beauty section, and does so in a space that is clean and well organized.
The deli is the reason most people make a specific trip rather than just stopping in out of convenience. The sandwich menu runs to around fifty options, which is a serious selection for a campus deli, and the quality across the board is consistent. The bread options include choices like the asiago bagel that elevate what would otherwise be a standard build. Pricing on the sandwiches sits around eight to ten dollars, which is reasonable for the area and the portion size, and the breakfast sandwich selection in the mornings is a reliable start to the day.
Outside of the deli the pricing on grocery items runs higher than what you would pay at a full-sized supermarket, which is the standard campus convenience store trade-off. For emergency grocery runs or drinks and snacks it is practical, but for a regular grocery shop the prices add up in a way that makes it worth planning a trip to a larger store for the bulk of your shopping.”
“So glad to have this place in the neighborhood! Has a lot of basic groceries (milk, eggs, cereal, etc) and then a ton of unique pantry items and prepared meals / desserts. So fun to walk around in!”
“Good market place with everything fresh vegetables, chicken, meat, fish, a lot of variety of groceries, good service, the only thing you have to buy is the bags or you can bring to save.”
“This is hands down my favorite spot to get fruits, snack, and refrigerated south Asian foods. Most importantly, the hot food bar is to die for. Staff is so friendly and makes great suggestions.”
“A South End Boutique sized supermarket. A little pricey, but convenient for SOWA.
The Fresh Deli, Hot bar, Salad bar and Soups are worth the trip.
My Favorites are the fried chicken Wings, etc @ Hot bar.
Italian Wedding Soup, and others.
Also the Ground beef burrito and meatballs, and the tuna salad@the deli.
Great variety of foods at the deli.
And great freshly made sandwiches as well as pre packaged mini sandwiches.
Addictive baked goods..Muffins, Loafs, Cookies, Brownies, Pies, Cakes, etc.
There is also Wines and other alcohol products.
Very Convenient and Clean.”
“Normally I go to the self-service station, but today I went straight to the checkout because there was no line. The young woman who helped me was very friendly—I think her name was A’NYI F. The place is always clean and very well organized!”
“I found my favorite childhood snack at El Platanero, so this deserves a 5 star review.
Staff was super helpful when we asked for specific information, and whenever we encountered staff members they greeted us.
We found a lot of Dominican products we miss from home. Some prices are higher than other grocery stores, but we will definitely be back for specific household items.
Try not to need to use restroom while here, restrooms don’t lock, your privacy will rely on a sign on door asking to knock before entering.”
“Very cute and friendly neighborhood market. I like all the unique items you can find in there as well as regular items. The onions aren't always good but other produce is.”
“I especially appreciate the customer service in this store. The cashiers are valuable reassuring necessary assets that sets Roche Bros apart from their competitors. Bravo ? ? ? ? ? ?”

“I love shopping at Aldi!
the prices are always affordable and truly budget-friendly! fruits are excellent ngl, I even bought a huge bag of grapes, around 3–4 lbs, for about $3–4, which would easily cost $15–18 at other stores. The atmosphere is great, and the meat selection is also wonderful, highly recommend!!
I also love their lilies??”
“Roche Brothers awesome as usual I went in for the things I needed to make homemade shakes and I love doing that because it's a whole lot cheaper making a homemade shake than buying one on the outside! On one little tub of ice cream alone for a homemade shake you could make about five or six shakes out of that thing and I would seem like you only paid a dollar per shake or less that's a great buy and a great deal and I thank God for dealing with me to start making homemade shakes Frozen Gatorades and other things including Frozen pop absolutely amazing what God will reveal to your spirit if we'll just listen! ???”

“Great grocery store! Food is fresh, displayed well, prices clear, and staff above excellent. I'm instantly hungry when I see their compelling food varieties. A shout out to the bakery, deli counter, and sushi chef! Always a pleasant experience.”
“Liquor. Lottery. Newports. They left off two words from the name. Liquor Store. It's, or it should be, Blue Hill Superette Liquor Store. What the heck is a "superette" anyway? The superette is located on prime retail space, too- between Breezeway Bar & Grill and Packy's. Doesn't get much better than that in Boston, I tell ya. So, the spot is BIG, well-lit, clean, and has a more than adequate selection of all the spirits the neighborhood clientele prefers . It even has an ok wine selection, which is really surprising (go 'head, Blue Hill Superette!). The first language of the employees/owner is Spanish, but no worries, they know English, too. Oh, the place is also a little convenience store, too- various corner store items available. The shelves are a little dusty, and I wouldn't buy anything other than liquor here for fear of the expiration date, because again- it's a neighborhood (big) liquor store. That's what you come here for- liquor, lottery, and Newports (if you smoke).”
“How refreshing! Shelves are well-stocked, aisles are clean, and there's no weird bleachy smell. I can't find all the things I need from HMart and 99 Ranch is a far drive...I was disappointed by the Chinese grocery I found in Boston but this one is great! Found everything I needed except for pickled mango but that is ok for a Chinese grocery closer to me!”
“A beautiful makeover of the beloved but tired original store. Now bright, spacious well-stocked aisles. A larger fresh produce section and inviting deli and prepared foods. Same long hours, a great evolution of a Waban mainstay.”
