“We have been customers of this local establishment for nearly two decades. Nearly all of our requests have been to replace batteries in watches. Never has there been a problem, which some reviewers seem to have experienced.One fine mechanical watch, a Breguet, was brought to Mark and Nina after the person who sold it to us "pre-owned" could not repair it after two attempts and nearly $1000 in charges. Mark correctly assessed that such a watch should be shipped to the factory in Switzerland for proper repair. That was handled expertly by them and relatively promptly, considering the backlog at the factory, and the charges, while more than $1000, were quite reasonable. The watch has functioned perfectly since that time. The most demanding request was for Mark and Nina to tackle our nearly 50 year old Atmos clock. Repairing these amazing devices, which are the closest thing to a perpetual motion machine, is not for the faint hearted, but Mark is an expert. Indeed, his repair was faultless the first time and it has stayed so for quite a long period. Again, the charge to repair it was far less than that quoted at the Longines service facility in Texas. Mark often has a number of used Atmos clocks for sale, so it's quite obvious that he has extensive experience with their delicate mechanisms. In summary, I am sorry there are reviews posting negative experiences by others over the years. I felt it only fair to indicate that Nina and Mark, in our opinion, are completely honest and very fair in what they charge for their work. We truly appreciate such fine service!”

“Joseph Gann Jewelers is the best. We have worked with Matt Gann since 2010 on 4 rings: An heirloom blue sapphire and a ruby that were each set into pre-existing settings and (a decade later) a tourmaline and white sapphire that were set into custom mounts. Each of these rings is beautiful and the finished product suits each stone perfectly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Matt Gann: He is the epitome of trust and courtesy; we have never felt rushed through the selection process; and when we brought in less conventional gemstones for setting (a huge tourmaline and a white/blue-gray sapphire) there was a great feeling of collaboration and mutual respect. Without needing to say much, Matt understood our vision as well as each gemstone's unique properties. In other words, he allowed/allows everyone to shine! I receive tons of compliments on my tourmaline ring (from 2021) The setting had to be designed and made from scratch to accommodate the stone. The result is stunning. The design is Joseph Gann, and it's perfect! Don’t be afraid to go custom! It’s worth it! When we picked up our most recent collaboration earlier this month (a white sapphire ring in an art-deco style) I was overwhelmed with joy…it was gorgeous and much more opulent than I expected for a simple setting (hard to capture in photos). I wear all four rings from Joseph Gann on regular ‘rotation’ and with each one so different from the other, it’s hard to believe that they come from the same jeweler. However, there is one thing common to them all: Outstanding Quality. We are so pleased to have Joseph Gann as our jeweler and look forward to working with Matt Gann again in the near future.”

“TLDR: Cheryl at DY in Back Bay is amazing and a great example of someone who is willing to go above and beyond to ensure a great shopping experience!I was searching for a unique wedding band after shopping around at local stores. Prior to this experience, I had never shopped at DY but, feeling like I had run out of options, I decided to stop by. Immediately, I was warmly greeted by Cheryl who spent the first minute or so chatting with me about my preferred styles/metal type. She was welcoming and so easy to talk to! She showed me an array of bands. Unfortunately, at the end of the appointment, I didn’t find a ring that I absolutely loved. However, upon browsing the website when I got home, I saw a band that was a non-traditional wedding band— I immediately texted Cheryl asking if the store had it in my size so that I could try it on. I was so surprised when she immediately responded (despite it being after work-hours)! She let me know that while she wouldn’t be in for work the next day, her colleagues could assist me and that she would ask to have the ring set aside. Sure enough, her coworkers Kendall and Lauren were there to assist me the next day. After falling in love with the ring, my fiancé and I paid a visit to the store together to buy the ring. “My first experience at Cambridge Jewelry and Watch Buyers exceeded my expectations! Jim Vellucci, the owner, was knowledgeable, friendly and honest about the process. I brought him an estate ring that was left to me by my grandmother along with some assorted gold jewelry to sell. Not only did he offer me the most money but we sat together and he explained step by step how he tests the gold with various gold acids on a stone to determine the karat.
