“This is the best art supply store. It just seems to have everything for every medium commonly used. There's a wide variety of markers to choose from. They also have gift cards. One gotcha, parking is very difficult. It's best to walk there. There is validated parking from an adjacent garage though.”
“Was a pleasure to stop by the store today! Tommy was very knowledgeable and able to help with some comics I was looking to sell but I didn’t know much about. Ended up buying a Shrouded Fable Pokémon collector box and can’t wait to open later tonight. Appreciate y’all and 10/10 would recommend! Thanks again!”
“Very nice store and employees. Great selection! They have beautiful yarn and supplies, and I was able to find everything for crochet. They're so helpful if you have any questions. I'm glad we came here instead of Michael's, and we'll be returning again for any crocheting needs ♡”
“Nice yarn store, pretty much the only one left on the area; a knitter's paradise: yarn of every kind, needless, hooks, buttons, and the owner who can always provide excellent guidance.”
“I have gone to Lee twice this year. I find him to be very trustworthy, fair and thorough. I’m sure his clients are much bigger than I am but he gave me the courtesy of going through all of my coins and stamps. Highly recommend!”
“I’ve never done needlepoint before but decided to stop in and check it out, and I’m so glad I did. Lauren walked me through everything with so much patience and enthusiasm. She helped me pick out the perfect canvas and made sure I had all the right supplies without ever trying to upsell me. The whole team was so friendly and welcoming. They even taped up my canvas and got me completely set up to start. I never leave reviews, but this shop and the wonderful ladies who work there definitely deserve the praise. Highly recommend!”
“Recently got into collecting silver and coins. This place is great. Charles and John are good guys to chat with and are very willing to share their knowledge and time.”
“I just brought some items to build my flower wall and I worked with the number of staff that were all very friendly and helpful. The cashier help me get set up with an account which gave me a pretty great discount right at the register! Overall, a good experience for my first time shopping at Michael’s”
“What can I say...I LOVE Michael's and find myself feeling happy whenever I go there. They have every decorating, crafting, art, baking, party supply item you could possibly need. The prices are great. The staff is nice and helpful. I especially love coming in during fall, Halloween and Christmas times as the decorations are always so fun to look at.”
“Arts & crafts galore, picture framing wonderland, and all the holiday decor you can think of. I just stopped by to see if they might have some cute Christmas-themed signs or trinkets for my new apartment and was blown away by the amount of stuff they had. Not to mention, the shelves were fully stocked for the most part!It felt like all the Christmas stuff was all on sale?? I mean everywhere I looked it was either 40% off, 50% off, or buy 1 get 1 50% off. Trouble for me that's for sure. This was a fabulous surprise. I went in looking for the possibility of some cute Christmas stuff, and left with and entire carriage full of stuff: a 7 foot fake tree, white lights and colored lights for my tree and to put up outside, garland for my fireplace that looked real and not tacky, a star topper, fake greenery to put in a vase, and more. The fake trees on display really take the cake here. They are all out on display the second you walk in, so you can get an idea to scale of what they look like with their lights on as well as the size and height of all them. They were on crazy sale and even without the sale it seemed like reasonable prices to me!I come here often throughout the year but this is the place to go if you're need something for the holidays!”

“I had an amazing experience at Michaels thanks to Tiffany and Gianna! Tiffany helped me fill up my bobo balloons, which can be tricky to work with, but she was so patient and made sure they looked perfect. She really went above and beyond to get the desired look and finish. Meanwhile, Gianna provided great customer service by attending to other clients while Tiffany focused on helping me. Their teamwork and dedication truly made my day. Highly recommend their service!”

“James at the Porter Square location was so lovely and helpful! I needed help with picture framing, and they were super patient and accommodating with my process. They also gave excellent advice and explanations of my options. Shoutout James!”
“Staying near by for family’s medical reason and found this little shop. Had very reasonable prices on all cards. Bought a few boxes and hope to return before I leave town. Phil and his wife have been at this for 25 years. No fluff and no fanfare but they know their place in the card business. Must check out if looking for new cards.”
“I like this location a lot. I could spend all day in here thinking about what new projects I want to start (and maybe actually finish!). The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and are always happy to help. Also, I think the rewards program is great! I've gotten so many great coupons and vouchers to pay for my endless need for crochet supplies. (Everyone who knits and/or crochets knows that it always takes more yarn than you think, even if you already got extra! ?)
Overall, it's really a great store, but I'd be remiss to not mention a few minor grievances I have. First and foremost: CROCHET HOOKS! Where did they go?? It seems that the hook isle hasn't been restocked for at least 5 months. I'm always losing my small-guage Susan Bates in-line aluminum hooks with rubber grip, and I constantly need to buy new ones. There aren't even any alternative brands for anywhere near a reasonable price! I need all sizes 4.0mm and below.
I am loyal to certain brands, as are many customers. And that brings me to my second grievance. Why are all the good brands of yarn being supplanted by a crappy low-quality brand called Loops N' Threads. I need Caron Simply Soft (a few skeins here and there on the shelf, but no variety and the quantity is always scarce!). The other brands I like are the Caron "pound of love", but this store does not carry enough color variety or enough skeins that are the same dye lot. That is also true about my other favorite: Lion Brand. There is less variety every time I go. No consistency. Another important crochet supply I can't find at this store are waterproof foam blocking boards that fit like puzzle pieces. Am I missing something?
Don't get me wrong - I still love this store! When I'm bored, or I am babysitting my 6-year old niece, I go here and ALWAYS find some cool project to do, book to read or game to play. They carry many unique products and I always find novelties, gizmos and gadgets. I was very happy to find all kinds of slime kits (because that's our favorite!),beads, paints, coloring books, model kits, cake decorating gadgets, origami paper, stationary, clay, colored pencils, *gel pens*, paint markers, storage containers, candles, holiday decorations, lights, CANDY ?, and so much cool stuff for kids (to get them to stop staring at screens all day!).
My only other comment, and it's controversial to say this, but here it goes:
I HATE PAPER BAGS. I cannot carry home pounds of yarn and other stuff in those useless bags. Oh, you want me to pay for a cloth bag? We'll, I certainly would if you had them in stock. Last time I was there my only option was to buy a $5 durable plastic bag. I shouldn't have to pay for bags, in my opinion. What if I had purchased a canvas, white yarn, drawing paper, or something fragile and I walked him in a light drizzle? I'll tell you from experience that I never make it out of the parking lot without my bag tearing and my purchases sometimes getting broken or ruined. What are you guys thinking?? Give your customers a darn plastic bag! Maybe I'll be able to USE it and even RE-USE it! It's so absurd that you refuse to provide what is a standard, super-reasonable, necessary expectation at ANY OTHER STORE. I usually bring my own bag, but my trips here aren't always planned, and on my unplanned trips always result in more purchases, so... yeah...
I need quality plastic shopping bags, <4.0mm Susan Bates crochet hooks, blocking boards, and more variety of quality yarn brands, like Caron, Lion Brand and most importantly, Caron Simply Soft. Then I'll give you 5 ? s.”
“Although the store had everything that I needed, store personnel only pointed to the potential location of the items. Good supplies, poor associate interaction and support.
Several sale items were not priced.”
“The owner, Harvey, is a delightful person to meet, with a passion and deep knowledge for coins. I had a great experience selling him some hand-me-down coins. Lovely customer service & seamless experience.”
