Market Basket is a grocery store loved by many customers for its low prices and incredibly well-priced, inspiring meat selection. The new, much bigger location, which opened in summer 2025, offers a premium butcher counter and an expanded selection of fresh items. Customers find a wide and surprisingly broad selection of products, including beautiful pork, fresh seafood that staff will clean, stewing chicken, beef cheeks, and rabbit. The store also carries a delightful selection of Mexican, Central American, and other international foods, such as Albanian smoked sausage, tamales, unsweetened fruit pulps, and tropical fruits and vegetables like yucca flowers, breadfruit, galangal, dandelion greens, and bitter melon. The upgraded store features an expanded fast prep food options and a sit-down cafe at great prices. Shoppers appreciate the organic offerings and note that the staff is always extremely nice and welcoming, with shelves that are always stocked and full. While the new location has better parking, some customers feel grocery prices are creeping up to pay for the upgrades. A frequent complaint is that the popular Green Cola flavor is often out of stock for weeks, leading some to shop elsewhere. Overall, Market Basket is considered a fabulous store with a great variety and the lowest prices around.

What's important to me: organic offerings and good prices. This store has both. After the new store opened, I switched from Whole Foods.
