“While I can’t post about the quality of the repairs at Ray’s, I can post about their integrity. My car stopped working on 495, about three hours from home, and was towed to the shop. Steve worked with me to understand the issue, tried to source parts, and gave me solid advice as to whether or not it was worth fixing my car. It would have been a pretty expensive job ($5500 for parts alone), and rather than taking my money, he said I was better off to not put more money into it. Not only that, but he allowed me to leave the vehicle at his shop for ten days until I was able to have it towed back to my house. If I lived closer, this would be my auto shop. Thanks again, Steve.”

Town Fair Tire was comparable and their package included patches, rotations and more which I have used all. More importantly in my search I was looking for hospitality and as soon as I opened the door last year and fast forward to this evening everyone is always professional, friendly, helpful and all around wonderful to do business with! “Took my Corvette to Herb Chambers 3 times for the engine misfiring..After the 3rd visit they told me it was the transmission and to take it to a transmission mechanic in Wakefield. Within 1 hr the transmission place told me it was fine. Took it to essex County auto repair. They did a tune up in one day. Car runs like new and they did it at a excellent price. The dealership should be embarrassed,they couldn't fix the car. They had it for 3 weeks.. can't say enough about essex, thank u for fixing my car.”

“I don't think I've ever encountered such kind and empathetic people during a car crisis throughout my life. I had quite an insane situation that happened to me on a Friday afternoon on the way to my brother's wedding where at one point I got a flat tire. Triple A towed me to this place and these guys were genuinely good people who helped me out through a time of high stress and craziness. Most garages get a reputation of trying to rip people off, but I can with full honesty say everything I experienced here was the complete opposite of that. God bless this place.”

They drove to me, with a jack, took off the tire, went back to the shop, fixed the tire and drove me back to my car all within an hours time. “Been going here for about a year now and i really love their service. The ladies at the front desk are always friendly and billy is a wonderful guy. He always takes care of my old 2004 corolla! Last time i took it in to get the oil changed and they didn’t mention but surprised me by charging up my AC so it could blast cool air for the summer. Highly recommend these folks ??”

“Henry was a life saver! I was two hours from home and my front right strut broke. I took my tacoma to Henry's after being denied by another garage that wouldn't even look at my truck to tell me if it was drivable. Henry took one look at the undercarriage and new what happened. He and his receptionist, Brooke, called several people trying to find the part I needed and eventually found one to get me on the road within a few hours. They were both kind and understanding. I felt like part of the family. If I didn't live so far away, I would be using them regularly. Thank you guys so much!”
