I only have one person working I stood in line for 6 minutes for them to tell me you would be about a half an hour for them to fill my propane tank! Seriously? I and another person walked out because she needed propane and she was after me...

Victor is an absolute comedian, and Charlie is the GOAT. Together they run this place with a lethal combination of efficiency and great spirits. I would highly recommend this location.

General Manager, Victor, was a pleasure to work with. He has a very warm friendly personality, and was patient and knowledgeable to answer all of our questions. We rented a 6’x12’ double axle box trailer. Victor hooked it up to our truck hitch, made sure all the safety connections were made, and even checked the tire pressure at our request. We highly recommend Victor and this UHaul location!

Where do I begin? The check-in was so bad I thought the manager was going to have my car towed away... He also told me he might call the police on me (in front of my kids). The truck was ancient, 168,000 miles, and was dirty. He did clean the back out after I pointed out how dirty it was. The truck should be retired, I didn't feel safe driving it on the highway. The passenger door didn't open from the outside. Literally an unsafe truck. Way overpriced for what I got. I will have to look for other options next time as this Uhaul was terrible.

The customer service rep was very nice and I was able to get my uhaul van within less than 5 minutes. The van was clean, full tank of gas and had no issues. Return was also super quick and easy and I got my emailed receipt within the hour. Would definitely recommend.

If i could give this place a zero star i would. I went in to have two propane tanks refilled. Stood in line with 5 people in front of me and five plus behind me. Person at counter dealt with everyone and every single person had some issue with contracts or problems with quotes and none were helped properly. When i walked up to counter and said i need two propane refills uhaul employee said he isn’t doing them because he is too busy doing other stuff. Instead of wasting peoples time he could have posted a sign at refill station or asked every once in a while what people are waiting for. Just terrible experience for me and people in line. I walked out saying the store sucks a** and everyone just agreed sarcastically saying its never their fault.

Uhaul has great deals and is way cheaper than it's competitors but I will never use it again. They made a mistake and would not take responsible for it. Instead they tried to charge me an extra $300. Costumer service gaslit me and spoke with condescension. The Northampton location told me the paper contract I had been given by them was incorrect since it contradicted what they had saved in their own computer (their mistake) and refused to listen and acknowledge his mistake and make up for it. Every person I spoke to at this company told me a different contradicting thing. I will now never trust a single thing that anybody ne here says. They will likely tell you "I never said that!" And charge you a huge fee, or demand you drive your truck to some different location without notice. An absolutely despicable company. There should honestly be a class action suit for all of the people they have robbed.

Not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).I visited this location on two occasions with negative experiences both times. The first time there was a U-Haul pickup truck partially obscuring the only handicapped parking space. Because I had to park further away, I asked if anyone was able to assist me carrying the boxes to my vehicle. The manager told me he couldn't keep leaving the desk, but that I could pull my car up in front of the doors to make the loading easier. When I returned for my second visit there was a personal vehicle parked perpendicular to and completely obscuring the handicapped spot. I pulled up to park where I had on my first visit. I then went inside to pick up the boxes I needed, accompanied by my service dog.As I was waiting in line to be served, the man behind the counter told me there were no dogs allowed in the store because he has an allergy. I explained that my dog is 1) hypoallergenic and does not shed, 2) under federal law allowed in all places of business as a service animal, 3) necessary for me to go about my daily life. I was then told to put my dog in the car on an 80+ degree day. At this point I chose not to respond further but stayed in line—the Americans with Disability Act protects service dog handlers from being refused service due to their service dog.The U-Haul employee then told me I needed to move my car because it was blocking one of the lanes for returning vehicles, and revealed that the car blocking the handicapped spot (and the other vehicle return lane) was his personal vehicle. His first response was to ask if I was handicapped, which was both rude and inappropriate. He then directed me to park further away, and I explained that would make it physically very difficult for me to transport the boxes to my car due to the nature of my disability. At this point he became argumentative, stating "you're really making this difficult for me."I understand that this man has an allergy, but at no point did my dog pose a serious health risk to him. The health risk I face without my service animal is severe. I would have been perfectly happy to park in the designated handicapped spot if it had been left unobscured, and made my visit as short as possible to minimize any exposure of allergens. The way he engaged with me was belligerent and prolonged the amount of time my dog was in the store and my car was parked where it was.I chose to leave the establishment and will not be returning. This encounter was extremely upsetting, and in violation of several laws regarding both the conduct towards myself and my service animal and the obstruction of the handicapped parking space. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, especially those with a disability. There is a Penske Truck Rental just across the street at 222 N King St, which is where I would direct future business.

Great experience renting from this location, much better experience than my last rental at another location. The manager was helpful and was proactive in providing assistance and solving any issues I had. I guess I owe him a drink...

Terrible service. Scheduled a 7:30 install and when I asked how long to expect, they told me I would have to reschedule. I was willing to leave my car and had no issue with end of day. They waisted my time and were unreasonable. Neither party was unruly or rude, it was just kind of a surreal and mater of fact getting 'kicked out' for asking a question. I just needed to know if I should go to the local coffee shop or hail an Uber to my home 11 miles away. I will not be going back for the 'rescheduled' appointment (I will cancel).

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with U-Haul of Northampton and feel compelled to share my negative encounter. The customer service was absolutely horrible, and it was evident from the moment we arrived at the store.Firstly, despite arriving promptly at 9 am when the store opened, the reserved equipment I had specifically requested was not available. This level of incompetence is simply unacceptable. Not only did U-Haul fail to meet their commitment, but they also wasted my valuable time and caused unnecessary inconvenience. To exacerbate matters, the store manager, Victor, proved to be completely unhelpful and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issue at hand, he resorted to gaslighting tactics, attempting to manipulate and undermine my legitimate concerns. It was clear that his primary focus was not customer satisfaction but rather deflecting blame and avoiding responsibility. What struck me the most was the toxic atmosphere perpetuated by the entire staff. Their behavior was discourteous and uncooperative, further intensifying my frustration and disappointment. Moreover, attempting to reach them by phone was an exercise in futility; they were utterly unreachable and seemingly disinterested in resolving any issues. In fact, my experience with U-Haul of Northampton deteriorated to such an extent that I was left with no choice but to involve law enforcement. I had rented a truck and discovered a lost personal belonging. When I approached Victor, the manager, he outright refused to inspect the vehicle, prompting me to call the police for assistance. This level of negligence and indifference towards customer concerns is simply unacceptable and unprofessional.Overall, my encounter with U-Haul of Northampton was nothing short of a nightmare. The appalling customer service, lack of equipment despite a reservation, Victor's gaslighting behavior, the toxic staff, and the need to involve the police due to the manager's refusal to address a lost personal belonging highlight the sheer incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction at this location. I would strongly advise against anyone considering U-Haul of Northampton for their moving needs.

arrived in RV for propane refill 4:15pm on Thursday- we were told that the guy who can do propane left at 4. Came back Saturday at 11am - told they are waiting for parts for propane tank to come in and couldn't refill RVs. Advised manager that not being able to reach the store by phone nor being told this information 2 days ago was a real problem. Manager went into long story about how many days and hours he works and how he has to route calls to corporate when he is busy, blah blah blah. I said, then let corporate KNOW you are not doing propane/hours you are doing propane. He didn;t like my tone and started yelling at me to get off HIS PROPERTY. This guy needs to be fired. Uhaul needs to staff their sites with enough employees that you can call the site AND HAVE the services they advertise!!

I don't normally write reviews but I have to give a shout-out to Victor who helped me with my van rental for pickup, drop off, and when I came in earlier this week to get moving supplies. He had a positive attitude every time i came in and when I dropped it off i realized there was a discrepancy with the odometer. It was ~65 miles higher than it should've been based on the contract and how much i'd driven it. He respectfully explained his/the store's point of view about needing proof which makes total sense, but he also took the time to hear me out and worked with me so I didn't end up paying the 65 mile difference for, admittedly, my oversight not getting proof when i picked up the van. Moving is the worst and could've really messed up my day, but I'm truly grateful for his great customer service! And note: always take a pic of the odometer/dashboard when you get a rental!!

When we picked up our van around 7:30AM on Sunday (Mother's Day), an agent/employee had actually arrived early (the location doesn't open until 9AM), and he helped us check in when the app didn't work for me. He was pleasant and also helped a few other people picking up early). To have a worker show up early on Sunday and be happy to help customers? AMAZING ... you don't see that often. That guy should be given a bonus ... or at least tell him what a great job he did! Then we had to swap out our truck for a larger one, and a different agent who helped with that was ALSO friendly and helpful. And when we returned later in the day, we actually had fun joking around with him as we were checking-in.They are doing something right at this location ... in this day and age very few places have customer service this good!

Just called Northampton MA location needing to ask information regarding van rental. What's required for rental, how they charge/how much, how to reserve and if reserving is necessary, everywhere has their own set of rules and I'm not very experienced with this except renting a truck for a couple hours from Home Depot. I called on May 13th, Saturday 9 am, some guy answered to which immediately told me to "hold", I patiently waited my turn. A turn I didn't get because other costumers who showed up AFTER were more important despite I'd already waited and my questions should have taken two minutes tops!! The degenerate whom never gave his name and you could say never gave anything useful and was only yelling at me to reserve a vehicle after telling me to define what a van is. Yet he never answered what's required to rent the vehicles or explained cost in a clear manner. He disconnected when I was put on hold again and told he didn't have time for questions, well questions are how you do business and other costumers matter but they can wait their turns like I did. This rude SOB disconnected the line, I can see why this j*** place has lousy ratings and I'll definitely be taking my money elsewhere, where answering questions isn't a problem because how else does a costumer find out Sherlock!!!! He was truly a brain dead imbecile. Keep looking until you find a place that is respectful and gives ALL clients the time they each deserve and doesn't pout and argue about answering questions because if it's anything that tells of a corrupt operation it's avoidance of giving straight answers!! Very RUDE, HORRIBLE ABUSE FROM EMPLOYEE. FIND ANOTHER ESTABLISHMENT IN THIS FREE MARKET!!!!
