I really tried to do business with them following up with their sales rep for weeks but very poor communication on their end and unwillingness to help. After 2 months straight of constantly having to reach out via email without getting a response or calling in without a return phone call I decided to look elsewhere. Nobody should have to put in this much effort to try to give a company their business.

I had Commonwealth Fireplace install a $4500 insert in my home in Jamaica Plain. I had to sell that because of Covid and I moved Into a new home in Roslindale, which had two gas fireplaces. When I called them for service on my gas fireplaces in Roslindale, even though I was a previous customer at great expense, they told me they would not service me because they did not install the fireplace. This is most disappointing, and I have had to use Angie’s list and other places to get help.Very poor customer loyalty.

Terrible customer service. We went there today to try and get information on fireplace inserts. They were busy so I waited patiently to speak with one of the salesman on the floor. I approached to ask him a question and he cut me off. He looked around and said he wasn't sure if I was next... Really? I was the only one standing there for 10 minutes waiting for him to finish with another couple. My husband was going to purchase a pizza stone and other accessories for our Primo Grill. We will be going elsewhere. Sorry to have bothered you!

My husband and I have just come from Commonwealth Fireplace where we bought a wood-fire insert and we cannot speak highly enough of Jodi. She was so incredibly helpful, knows so much about every product and was patient with all our questions. In fact, her knowledge and explanations, I am quite sure, saved us from making a choice that would not have been as good for us. Like everybody else, we visited other stores but we found our experience with Jodi to be far and away the best....she was comfortable and easy to talk to, volunteering information we would need and asking us all the right questions that ensured we chose the most suitable product for us. She clearly loves what she does and is a true professional. Do not hesitate to visit the showrooms, you will learn so much and feel confident that you have been guided towards the the best product for you. Thank you Jodi for taking all the pain and uncertainty out of this experience!!

I just wanted to tell everyone how happy I was with my most recent interaction with Commonwealth Fireplace. I first met Jodi who helped me through the many options in purchasing a new fireplace insert as well as a gas log for my home. Her knowledge was second to none. Her experience saved me from making many wrong decisions. Her experience with all the products and options provided me with ideas from styles, quality, heating output and overall design. She just didn’t stop there, she also provided me with contractors such as a stone mason and chimney repair and cleaning company who also provided outstanding service. Jodi is a true professional who clearly has the customers’ best interest in mind.This outstanding service was also provided to me by Mike D. who installed my fireplace and made sure everything was perfect. and Mike and Jeremy from service, who answered and solved all my start up questions. I have been to a few places, but they are the best. I am very happy with my new fireplace. All the staff at Commonwealth Fireplace is great. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. The custom fireplace back plate is a nice feature. It made finishing the fireplace much easier. One tip: They are very busy. If you want a fireplace insert in the Fall I would start planning in the Spring.

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. They never call you back and promise things but never deliver. I had a gas fireplace installed last October and waited months to have it started because the log set was not in. When the technician came to finally start it up with the log set he said I could have been using it all along without the logs (which they told me not to do). The base plate was too long by an eighth of an inch so he had to take it back to have it cut down. He said he would bring it back within a week. Six weeks later I have not heard from anyone after leaving multiple messages. Finally called and said I was coming in to the store to pick up the plate. Was told they had it all along but didn't have a name on it!!! Stay away from this store if you are expecting good service!

Good solid experience. And then it came time for delivery and setup. This is what changed it from a good experience to a great experience. Mike was awesome. Explaining everything. Great with my family and simply provided customer service that rarely exists anymore. Way to go Mike and thank you.

We bought a gas log in November and waited almost 4 months for delivery and installation. The log makes a very loud noise, especially when it’s off. We called and asked for service and we’re told not much could be done!! Mike said he would have our salesperson call us. That never happened. Terrible customerservice. We are very disappointed considering the amount of money we spent.

Our gas fireplace stopped working so we contacted Commonwealth Fireplace as they had installed it for the previous owner. We had a scheduling mishap but once that was fixed the person who came was very friendly and very efficient. He was on time, he took apart our fireplace, cleaned the faulty sensors and the glass. I would highly recommend their service, the hardest part is getting on their schedule but it was worth the wait.
