No way this place is as bad as the reviews, right? Turns out it is, and I was blown away that a sports store could actually be 'bad'. The selection is pretty good, I'll say that. The goalie guy with the beard is also very helpful. The manager woman is a bit of a lunatic and her henchmen which consist entirely of unexperienced and immature high school kids are astoundingly unhelpful. You'll walk in and go somewhere, look around, and no one will come and help you. It's like they're trying to keep their stock. I wanted to talk to a goalie specialist and he was busy helping someone with lacrosse equipment. Instead of swapping out with another employee so he could help a customer in his specialty, the kid just told me to wait until he was done. I went here to buy a new goalie helmet. The model I was looking for was $1000. I told them I was a size large, and the manager sent one of the dumb kids to get me one from the back. It came in a nice case that said Size: L on it, I emptied my wallet and walked out. About a month later I'm sitting doing maintenance on it and I look inside the helmet and notice it's a size medium. If they hired staff with 20+ IQ instead, this store would be 10/10. I picked out a ton of other gear and was walking around with so much I could barely carry it all without taking two trips. The kid just looked at me across the store and told me to just put it on the floor in front of the register, not on the table or anything. On the floor. No one helped me out of the door when I left. TLDR: Know what you want before you come and do your research because chances are, no one is going to be willing to help you. If you pick

I don't normally leave reviews but the staff at MonkeySports in Norwood make the economically painful chore of shopping for hockey and lacrosse equipment enjoyable. Knowledgeable, truthful, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. You guys are the best!

Great store with a friendly staff. Unfortunately, purchased a Warrior girdle for my son and did not realize they were ripped until he tried them on at home. Store did not have another pair and needed them tonight. Wife to the rescue. Only complaint is they were damaged on the shelf for purchase.

I ordered a $325 hockey stick online. Everything was confirmed and ready to be picked up in store (Norwood, MA). I contacted store a day later to make sure it was ready. I waited on hold for 15 mins and then found out that the stick was actually not available. I asked what we could do to get it from another store. I was told by rep that I would have to come into store to order it there. No help out all and the original order had to be cancelled. So frustrating because I could have saved time and gone somewhere else, like PURE HOCKEY. I will start there next time. So dissatisfied. Sean

Our experience at Hockey Monkey in Norwood, Massachusetts, was nothing short of exceptional. We initially purchased a pair of hockey pants for our daughter, only to discover upon returning home that the zipper was unfortunately broken. Living a few hours away, we were concerned about the logistics of resolving the issue, especially with our daughter's state tournament approaching.Enter Joe, the store manager, who went above and beyond in delivering outstanding customer service. Joe not only facilitated the return of the defective pair but also took proactive measures to ensure our daughter had a replacement pair well before her upcoming tournament. His dedication and efficiency in handling the situation left a lasting impression on us.It's rare to encounter such a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction. Joe's professionalism and the store's willingness to swiftly resolve the issue showcase Hockey Monkey in Norwood as a prime example of excellent customer care. We are grateful for the positive experience and would highly recommend this store to others seeking quality products and exceptional service.

I had bought some hockey equipment online. When I came to the store to pick it up there were some issues. The team in Norwood took care of my issues and even made me aware of a sale happening which saved me money. In another situation I went in to get a stick and the team took the time to search their digital inventory to get me a better stick within the budget I was looking for. These folks are the definition of customer service. I will be making the trip to this store for all my equipment needs. It's so convenient because the store is so big, and I can see and try on equipment before buying. That gives me peace of mind.

We are so lucky to have this store for all of my son’s Hockey Goalie and Lacrosse needs!!! I feel like we are in there every 1-2 weeks. The staff is always helpful, and Debbie in particular who works at the front most of the time, makes you feel like it is a family run store. We needed help recently with getting some particular items ordered for my son, who is a full right youth goalie, and she couldn’t have been nicer and more patient with us. We will always make MonkeySports are preferred destination for all of our hockey and lacrosse needs! Thank you Debbie and team!

Huge store with tons of options for hockey baseball and lacrosse. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Went for hockey gear. Only reason 4 stars not 5 was the hockey shooting area to demo sticks was shut down. That area was a differentiating service from competitors. Prices were competitive and sale made it better.

Needed new goalie chest protector and pants for my son. We went to the Norwood store where Ryan W helped us. He was amazing and spent a lot of time fitting the gear to my son, trying on different gear, and helping us get the best deal. Also answered a bunch of questions for us. Great experience!

My daughter was in need of a new set of goalie gear for the upcoming season and I'm glad we stopped in to see what this store had to offer. They had a great selection of brands and sizes in stock. She has used Warrior for the last 6 seasons, but we ran into durability issues with her last 2 sets of pads. She decided to make the transition to the new Brian's Optik line. The Brian's gear is great, but we were most impressed with our sales associate Ryan. He was a professional, personable, and very knowledgeable young man. Being a goalie himself, his experiences with the different brands were a huge help. The store was also able to bake and relace the goalie glove pocket with skate lace for us to assist in the break-in process. Thanks Ryan!

I had a small mishap with an online order, which is always the case when it’s last minute. When I called the store Joe, the manager, went way above and beyond to get it resolved. He was incredibly patient, and really cared about helping me. He stopped the original order, confirmed the refund, and made sure my re-order was done correctly. I am obviously thankful that I’m getting what I need when I need it, but as grateful for the time and effort Joe made making sure I was all set.

Went to get my skates sharpened by hand they way they should be done. Found out that they just made a corporate decision to only have it done by automated machine now. This is ridiculous, sharpening skates by hand is a skill. This also brings people to the store, which could generate more sales. This is not a smart move by the company. It will hurt there bottom line in more ways then one, and hurts the game of hockey as a whole. Very disappointed

Very good customer service. Don't be fooled by their young age. They know a lot about the equipment which is sold there. Very knowledgeable. And Bob does a great job sharpening skates. Big store with lots of selection.

i would rate this place lower, was at the skate sharpening place and i placed my skates down to be next so i’m guessing 5-10 minutes at the most, i go up to the nice lady i mind you that’s probably the only reason that i rate this place a one star. thankfully i got my money back, after waiting for 15 minutes which a job that would take 5 minutes tops. i put my bad review on the skate sharpening not the store itself but also do i mind you that this store is made around hockey.
