As I was making my way to my hotel , I stopped into JIMS as disembarked from the ferry station to get a cup of coffee after an very early morning 5 hour drive to Oak Bluffs. While I was in the line to check out with my coffee, an older white Man with glasses in a blue shirt literally goes out of his way to tell me my car will be towed if I am not out of the parking lot in 15 mins. Mind you I was in the store for less than 5 mins.My car was also 1 of 3 in the mostly empty parking lot, but he only approached me in the store. I was going to also purchase gas for my car on my way out , but after that incident I decided not to. I decided drive out of my way to the Mobile gas station in the neighboring village of Edgartown instead. Jim’s is NOT a business I would support or recommend after this incident. Other Google reviews regarding Jim’s express similar incidents this indicating that this behavior may actually be a business practice of JIMS in Oak Bluff. This was an interesting Welcome come back greeting to Oak Bluffs!, after a 15 year hiatus. Thanks Jim’s

Before I walked in the store I had two milkshakes in my hand. When walking into the store the "owner" (the guy in the orange) in a very rude town said why are you walking into a liquor store with liquor. I was dumbfounded as to why you're saying anything to me and assuming I have liquor especially when I'm walking to patronize your store.He was very rude, and my friend and I decided to go somewhere else. He was truly an a**Additionally, I purchased from this store a day prior with a drink and no one said anything.

As a regular patron of this market, I'm compelled to say, the rudeness of the cashiers has become intolerable. An occasional unfriendly or unprofessional encounter I can let go, however, it's gone beyond that. Cashiers talking on their phones via Bluetooth headphones or ear pieces while waiting on you, when I greet them with a friendly "hello" or say "thank you" they can't be bothered with saying "hello" back or saying " your welcome". It always feels like I'm bothering them with my business or putting them out.Recently, I went in to the store, went to the cigar room, got some cigars, came out, and placed the package of cigars on the counter by the 1st register that's there when you walk in the store. I gathered my other items and got in line. When it was my turn in line, my items were rung up and the girl asked me, "Anything else?" in an annoyed tone. I replied, "Oh, yes, I have those cigars on the counter behind you." She said, "You're going to have to get them. " I looked at her, confused. Because all she had to do was turn her body and reach behind where she was standing, where as I had to walk over to the first register - which wasn't a huge deal, but made absolutely no sense to me. And her tone and expression was nasty and rude. I was beyond confused.This has been my go to store, but I must say, it's beginning to get uncomfortable for me to go there.

Had a bad experience with asking a worker if our dog was welcome. She said yes. Shortly lately the owner asked in a rude tone if I had a service dog. I said no and he said dogs weren’t allowed. I said I would leave immediately. He replied, “do what you have to do.” I went to purchase and he came to lecture the employee loudly and rudely in front of me. At the point I left. He was ranting and raving. I am all for rules and regulations. I’m not ok with a bully. He clearly was.

Jim's Package Store and Bogdan were an absolute dream to work with to supply our wedding. They have a great selection of beer and wine and, even though it was difficult to get, were able to secure Offshore Ale cans in abundance. They also had a great selection of beers that we could not find even in Manhattan! Great selection and excellent customer service.

I called here twice tonight to attempt to place an order for pickup for a friend's bday weekend. Someone at a B&B where my friend will be staying this weekend suggested I call Jim's and she would pickup the items for me. Super sweet! Unfortunately, the phone customer service at Jim's STINKS. The first woman who answered sounded half asleep, insisted they don't have anything but alcohol, and then hung up on me when I mentioned the website says they also have some snack and convenience items! When I called back someone else answered, was equally as rude and sleepy and said "We mostly sell alcohol." I said YES, I know, but I'd like to add some snack items. She got defensive and annoyed when I confused her for the first person (they both sounded asleep so easy to assume they're the same person!), and started insisting delivery was gone for the night. I explained that someone would pickup, that I don't need delivery, and asked why is she being rude in addition to the first person hanging up on me? I asked for her name, to which she replied "why do you need my name?" I was transferred to the first girl who said she had a customer come in and so she hung up on me since delivery is gone for the night anyway. Ummmm. You can't put someone on hold?? Really poor customer service. I was planning on dropping some serious coin to ensure my friends bday weekend in MV was made more enjoyable by my large gift basket. "Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now." I certainly hope "Jim" or whoever owns this place takes a look at who he has working in the evening and answering phones. And in case Jim reads this, I called on Wednesday night Oct 13, 2021. I know good staff is hard to come by these days, but come on. If you don't want to work and are too sleepy to answer the phones, quit and go home.
