So excited that the Red Cat Kitchen is open for the 2024 season. Ben deForest's dishes never seize to amaze, but the new salmon sashimi small plate is in a league of its own. I am obsessed!! I came for dinner early for a quick bite and had the best experience. My server, Martha, was wonderful and knowledgeable, the vibe was awesome as always, and the food was simply incredible. Can't wait to return.|

Went here for a birthday dinner in September, just after everyone went home. Fun, hip vibe. Great food. Interesting cocktails. Everything came out with perfect timing: not rushed and not "where's my food". Made for a pleasant evening.

We had an absolutely delicious vegan meal here. The atmosphere is casual, the art on the walls is fabulous, and the staff are so friendly. We will be back.

Had a very forgettable and expensive meal here last night 11/3/23. Menu was extremely small with limited selections. Restaurant was out of Merlot wine. The wine my wife ordered was served in a whiskey tumbler and a very small pour. No salad selections, no bread or rolls, dessert had no garnish or whipped cream on a subpar creme brulee. Also found out they are closing this weekend for the season....It showed! Never again, and the other patrons in my group, thought it sucked too. Almost forgot, later that night, my wife spent hours on the toilet. She later thought about her meal and remembered the allegedly fresh mussels looking and tasting weird.

This was a big letdown... Red Cat used to be a dark, moody place with really good food. The food wasn't as good as it used to be, and sometimes a bad night can happen, but the thing that's harder to overcome is the extremely loud and cafeteria like atmosphere that is discordant with the menu. I wouldn't make a big deal except it used to be so good.

Very poor experience at the front desk. We had booked weeks in advance for a later weeknight seating. When we arrived, we were told the only table available was the one by the kitchen next to the waiter station in the back. Clearly the restaurant was half empty, and at 8:30 on Oak Bluff's, there is no late crowd on Tuesday nights. Hostess, with a second helping of attitude, was adamant that she was saving the other empty tables in case large parties showed up. We ate elsewhere. On our way home on hour later, we had to walk by the place, only to see more empty tables. It was a real missed opportunity. For them.

Service was excellent, scallops and risotto is really good. I had the swordfish; excellent .the lobster and fried tomato was a combination I wouldn’t have thought of, but the chef knows what he is doing!!!

Arrived for 9 pm res and noise indoors was way too loud for our party to converse without raising our voices and the waitress had to raise hers to be heard. They generously moved us to porch, which helped a lot. But then the pace was off; they brought food before even our cocktails and apparently we needed to hurry to order before kitchen closed; it was hard to relax and staff seemed too busy or tired to be able to pace things comfortably. Food was really delicious but for that kind of money I was a little disappointed.

Place has a great vibe. Awesome ambiance. Jaws on the big screen. Awesome service by the bartenders. Food was absolutely delicious. Drinks were perfect. Only slight negative...read the menu re the scallops. Says Big A$@ Scallops. Only one was big, the other 2 on the smaller side.

We were at the Red Cat years ago when it was at the old location. We couldn't wait to get back. What a disappointment! The food, while being the most expensive I've ever had, was not up to snuff. A $68 short rib was tough. The fried chicken, which they're famous for, just average. The service also fell short. Our waiter was friendly and helpful at first, then disappeared for the rest of the night . I had to ask 3 times for a glass of wine, which I ordered well before our entree to arrive. Finally, when I was about a third done with my meal, I flagged our waiter done and asked where it was. His response: "What was it you wanted?" Finally, I should point out that the noise is deafening. It was impossible to have a conversation without yelling. Needless to say, won't go back.

Excellent cocktails at the bar before our reservation. Delicious dinner! Tuna tartare app was outstanding and plentiful and oh so pretty! Very nice server. Sea scallops over corn risotto with basil oil spot on. Our only concern is the noise. There is absolutely no sound proofing and our ears buzzed the whole night. Very hard to converse, even at a side table. Even our server said it's a problem and she wishes management would address it. Other than that....a very creative, pricey establishment.

Made a reservation for 6. Place was half empty inside. Hostess insisted we sit outside on porch with hot afternoon and no one else seated there. Was it my brown skin and did I just go back 80 year in time ? Had been going there for 10 years. Food this summer was mediocre. Scallops and risotto. Burrata and heirloom tomatoes. Key lime pie. All very average. Success seems to have gone to their heads. Catering to the mass of tourists. I liked you when you were a hole in the wall and worked at pleasing the customer. Good bye Red Cat. You won’t see me there again. I will not be going back. Good bye Red Cat.

We loved this restaurant - everything: the people, the food, the atmosphere, the drinks. We had starters, dinner, and dessert - and it was all delicious, fresh, beautifully plated, and served timely with a smile. We had a bottle of wine and some interesting after dinner drinks (interesting as in fun and different and fabulous). Our server was so professional, welcoming, friendly, and just plain good at her job.
