Had a delivery today for job being done on Friday. Driver was excellent! Courteous, friendly and very respectful of property. She checked and rechecked items to be sure everything was there. Items that needed to be covered were. She did a great job. Just sorry I didn't get her name.

People are so friendly. My only issue is the repair shop. I've been taking my mower in twice a year for 5 years. Last time it was almost the cost of the mower, despite Mike the Toro guy having serviced it in the fall. $120 to repair a $140 mower that's been repeatedly serviced at the same place for never more than $45 is wild. Won't be doing that again.

To Owner:
I am 50 year resident of Athol. This is a highly needed store that is well stocked and generally well staffed. There are some genuinely good people. I am appreciative for all the assistance over the years. In the last 2-4 years, I have seen senior management, scream at me and other patrons at decibel level 90, making a scene. I don’t talk to my dog this way. After many years of patronage, I took a chance that they might still be open even though it was at least 20 to 30 minutes past their posted time. When driving by, I saw the door open and patrons coming and going. I politely approached the front desk and the middle-age manager, he screamed out the time which I cannot recall, but it was significantly after closing. In order to de-escalate a violent, caustic, decibel level 90 response where everyone in the entire store stopped what they were doing, I answered with a soft, “got it.” Turned and left. Based on the extreme violent, angry response, I sensed there was more going on than a simple “sorry we can’t. We just closed out the register. Please come back tomorrow.”
2 weeks later the a tall, highly knowledgeable long-time customer service gentleman, saw me walk in
from afar and started to approach, saw that I was the one who was yelled at by the senior manager, and he turned around and dismissed me by going somewhere else. I thought it was a fluke, but two weeks later, I went to go buy a major purchase there and he did the exact same thing. I never wanted to post this review because I think karma has a funny way of working things out. But then, in owning my own business, something similar happened to one of my longtime employees, and no matter how much money I spend on making a better company, it all comes down to that point of contact. Just wanted the owner to know, I understand, but you should, too.

I went in for the first time today just looking for a small simple piece of plank wood. They wind up letting me know that they have exactly what I need in there, scrap wood bin and gave it to me for free so I was really pleased with that. On the way out, I noticed a stack of pallets at the edge of their parking lot that looks like they were being discarded so I asked if they were getting rid of them and they said I could take as many as I wanted. Very good customer service experience.

After shopping here many times, I will not be back. The staff made my fiance feel extremely unwelcome and refused her return with reciept, even though they've taken my returns from other Ace's before.
