The gym is spacious and has a lot of equipment ??♀️, not very clean thoughBUT the the most disgusting stuff is an attempt to always cheat you on money ?As a newcomer to this country ?? I am still learning and the staff did not explain to me the details of the agreement when I decided to join the gym for a couple months ?️??Be careful and read your agreement thoroughly!!I didn’t see any chargers on the website ?for being unable to attend the gym, thus willingly joined.HOWEVER, it magically appeared in my contract ($100 for being unable to continue) as well as the fact one would have to you pay for extra month after you quit ?Do your best to find another place of that kind, I am sure there are a lot more with the client oriented service. This place sucks ??

Do not come here if you have a special needs child. Erica the assistant manager berated me in front of customers for advocating for the poor treatment of my autistic 1 year old in their child care room. The childcare room worker in the morning had abhorrent behavior, informing me that my disabled toddler just didn’t want to listen and was destructive. I made it extremely clear upon bringing him there for the first time that he is on the spectrum, nonverbal, very busy, and a climber. After my interaction with Erica where she told me that “on the spectrum is a new term that no one knows like gluten free” she told me that me and my disabled baby are not allowed there because he doesn’t listen and is destructive and I have a bad attitude. Once my husband called Steve the GM it turns out she doesn’t have the authority to do that and I am welcome back. How this gets dealt with will determine whether I return or make a report to the ADA. I love my autistic son and will fight for dignity and respect for him no matter what.Editing to add that it has been brought to my attention that the assistant manager and childcare worker are mother and daughter. They ganged up and gaslit me to make me doubt the fact that I repeatedly told this worker about my sons disability. I will not let this go and I will update my review on whether or not management makes the right decision.

1-year update in 2023: Great improvements all around. All the leather covers on gym equipments have been replaced. The steam room has been fixed. Some showers are still broken. The water filter in the men’s locker worked for like a few days. I guess they gave up on that. The towels are back, but at a limited level, which is fine. PLEASE FIX THE WIFI because it has never worked. It has a full bar, but it doesn’t work! I’m literally downstairs connected to Comcast WiFi to leave this review.2022 review: I had been with Boston Sports Club since they first opened in Boston many years ago. The pandemic closed all of the locations I normally went to so I made this Peabody location my home gym. Choice Fitness took over in October of 2022. The gym is run down and was poorly managed by BSC. It’s been only a couple of weeks so things are still broken, which I understand. I’m sure the new company will fix or make improvements as time goes on since this is one of their elite locations. I think the locker room is slightly cleaner. The front desk employees have no chair so they’re all standing and paying attention unlike the previous company whose front desk employees sat around and stared at their phones their whole shifts. One complaint I have for the new company is the music. 9 out of 10 members walk around with their headphones, yet they blast rap music at max volume making it really hard for us to listen to our own stuff. Some of us actually listen podcasts or audio books. I’ll come back and revisit this review in the future if things change.

So let me say that firstly this is a good gym, and that it has a ton of amenities that many other places do not. Smoothie bar, pool, indoor football field area, spacious locker rooms etc. Then why the three star review you may ask? Because it simply doesn't have enough weight lifting equipment to justify how expensive the gym is. The two levels that contain all the weight equipment filled with dead space. Compare the football field area to the weight lifting areas of the first and second floor. The total square footage of the football field seems significantly higher than the two zones that would be used most. I've had to wait for machines several times at this gym, but never the one in Danvers. It seems like it should be worth 60 dollars a month, but when you break it down and compare it to the things you'd actually use in the gym it's just not worth the cost.

I’ve been to this gym for years! I’m so disappointed with one of the staff. There is one particular female employee that usually is at the front desk with black hair. I can not explain how horrible that person is. She always has an attitude and is very rude and unprofessional. My review will change once the administration makes better decisions when it comes to employees. I

The worst customer service out of any gyms I’ve ever been to . When they are saying 30 minute until gym closes 6 times then repeating it in Spanish while laughing. They rush you out of here. And it happens over and over again. I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable coming to the gym that I PAY to go to. I’m not sure what the hiring process is but it’s quite disturbing that they allow people who behave like this work in this establishment. Going to terminate my membership do to this behavior . Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

Pool lanes have been sold to swim classes so only 1 gym member can swim per hour from 5-6pm. Pool locker room is disgusting. Lights out, lockers are small, missing ceiling tiles, rusty hand dryers and just plain dirty. I have complained to staff/managers and they seemed bothered I was even speaking to them. Staff don’t even know how long the pool is. They restrict you on pool workouts and then won’t let you out of the contract. Definitely choose another gym because not much has changed from when Latitude and BSC owned it and failed. They have new TV’s though if you want to go to a gym and watch tv what’s next serving pizza and bagels like planet fitness?

Great huge place. Spacious and full of equipments. The turf is also very well maintained. Turf reservation is expensive.

If I could give less than one star, I would. The takeover has gone horribly from Boston sports club. They brought the feel of a Lowell planet fitness to the North Shore. Half of the equipment is broken and the locker rooms are 20 years old and aging. No hot tub or sauna. The pool needs a little bit more chlorine due to the number of kids that are they are for the rented lessons, which also makes it difficult to find a lane. Also, beware of the fine print that will not be disclosed in the contract. $100 cancellation fee.

The owner has changed but unfortunately it’s is not in the Gympass plan so I have to move. Nice and clean, always not crowded so it’s easy to keep social distance and the instruments are always available. I miss it.

Many of the girls and guys at the front desk are very nice and excellent customer service…. The remainder can’t be bothered to even say hello. Pool is dirty… whirlpool closed… sauna closed… broken machines, etc. It is convenient for me is the only reason I stay a member. BSC has let this place deteriorate and have no idea how to run a sports club. The do however know how to take peoples money and not put it back into the upkeep of the club.

I’m suprised the rating is a 3.7 here. This gym has been going downhill since tsi bought it. The mens steam room was closed for months, then reopened for a few weeks and now been closed again, and staff informed me the closure is permanent. The sauna doesn’t work, half the showers have no controls (they have been taken apart and just left in stalls), toilets are backed up all over the building, there are leaks in many locations in the interior, and ventilation in the locker rooms hasn’t worked in years. I don’t know what the future plans are for this building or what the ownership stake is but there appears to be no intention of turning it into a functional facility or even having the amenities they advertise operational. It is questionable whether even basic board of health standards are met here. This gym is huge, has the turf field, basketball court, track, raq ball and layout to be an excellent place to workout. It is a shame to seen basic maintenance been neglected for so long that it has gotten to this point. Every time I set foot in the gym it seems like something else is broken or has failed.Would not recommend joining for people looking unless there is a huge change in the level of commitment. Seems like a place that is just trying to limit the monthly losses and only offer the bare minimum.

Place has been going downhill for a while now. Was hoping that when BSC took over from Latitude they would invest into the building and bring it back to what it once was but that hasn't been the case at all. Ended up cancelling my membership after 5 years. Machines are always breaking. Nothing has been updated. The pool, basketball courts and field are usually rented out for practice and parents just let their kids run freely throughout the gym. The men's locker room is disgusting. The showers are either broken or so dirty you don't even want to step inside them. The sauna hasn't been cleaned in probably 2 years, it's filthy. Isolated incidents in the steam room result in management shutting it down to all members. Everyone gets punished instead of just revoking the involved person(s) membership. Any time it rains there's leaks all over the gym floor. It's a shame because this place has the potential to be a more affordable option to Lifetime but it seems like management has given up on it.
