She listened thoughtfully to what type of floral arrangement I needed and helped me understand how that might look based on the beautiful flowers and accent greenery she currently had in the shop. I enjoy browsing through Instagram on a regular basis to look at floral arrangements and found hers to be especially artistic in design so I already had a high level of confidence in what she would provide. But what really set her apart was that told me she would take a picture of it and send it to me. She also confirmed the delivery so I would know when the flowers had been received. “I hate to admit it but I'm a flower snob. I worked in the industry for a long time and I feel there's a big difference between a handful of flowers and an artistic arrangement that is crafted carefully and thoughtfully. I real designer understands the flowers they choose and how they'll age over the short life of the bouquet. It's one thing to arrange flowers for today; its entirely different to arrange flowers for the week.This place GETS IT. I wish I could remember the young woman's name, but her arrangement was absolutely spectacular. She captured the ephemeral beauty of the season in her design. She skillfully chose flowers and greenery that accent each other in the moment and as they age. I was converted the moment she chose these beautiful, fragrant, peach/coral colored rose stems and pointed out that the flowers would open up over time. This isn't a small detail, as the other flowers begin to shrink and wilt, like the sweet pea she carefully placed in the bouquet, the rose head will open, filling the space. This turns the arrangement into a living (dying!) Art piece. Because she was so thoughtful the arrangement looked beautiful far longer than a standard 1-800 flowers style arrangement. It's a detail few would notice, but she knew the value of the flower and its larger blooms. That tells me this is a person who is passionate about her art. The admiration I have for those little details can not be understated. In Greenwich this arrangement would have cost $200+ and would have come with a sneer. Here, it came with a friendly smile, generous conversation, and passion for the work. Consider the Lilies is a hidden gem and if you've been wondering where to get flowers to wow someone, this is the place.The walls were also decorated with creative and interesting vases and decorations that gave the space a bright and comfortable atmosphere. The entire experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go back.”
