Pittsfield State Forest is an expansive 11,000-acre destination that offers a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and ATV riding. The forest features Berry Pond and 30 miles of trails, providing ample opportunities for exploration and adventure. Campers can enjoy well-maintained sites, though some note that bathroom access could be improved. Visitors appreciate the beautiful views, especially from the top of the mountain, while others enjoy leisurely walks along shorter trails and the handicapped-accessible loop. The friendly and helpful rangers enhance the camping experience, and firewood is affordably priced. However, trail markings can be inconsistent, so it is advisable to take a photo of the map or use a trail navigation app. While dogs are allowed on-leash, caution is advised due to off-leash dogs encountered by some visitors. Overall, Pittsfield State Forest is a lovely spot for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a diverse range of activities and scenic views.
Nice camping place that is close to a number of trails and also Tanglewood! I wish bathrooms were easier to access from our camp site but it was clean and well maintained.

Such a beautiful place. Very generous sites that allow for privacy. Fire pits but no grill. I'll come back.

Great way to spend time out in nature and out of the rat race for a few hours.
