The woman at the Shell Shop today was so helpful; she went out of her way to find the right box for the item I purchased. Great Customer Service for sure, at this fine retail establishment.

Never support a store that contributes to the abuse of animals. Hermit crabs should not be displayed as a souvenir that lives in a tiny cage and gets improper nutrition. These animals can live up to 30 years with proper care, which is not whats provided here. They crush them out of their natural shells, which some crabs are killed in the process and then put in toxic pained shells. Hermit crabs need 50+ gallon tanks with 5+ inches of sand to burrow properly. They need so much care to live healthy long lives. Animal abuse isnt a good look for a quick buck.
-adding to my review as owner replied: people buying more crabs from you means literally nothing. Owning a crab for 20+ years means nothing, just because an animal is alive doesn’t mean its being cared for properly. (I also highly doubt your statement). You saying you only sell to guests who will care for them as you do means NOTHING when you do the absolute bare minimum, and thats a stretch.
Sell fake crabs in these containers, you’ll probably make more money and won’t be killing and continuing the torture of these crabs.

My whole family loved this shop. So many different shells and art we all found some great keepsakes. Even got a awesome shark hat here. Owner was helpful and lovley. We will be back for sure.

This store is very cute!! Anyone can easily spend some time looking at all of the beach themed items they have. I wanted to buy all of beautiful shells but I have so many from when I had collected them on the beach. We ended up buying some candies to enjoy for our day trip there.

Last week, I left a not-so-complimentary review of this business because of an order that did not arrive. Apparently, the package was stolen after delivery from my daughter's porch. After several cycles of messages and contacting the BBB, the owner of the shop generously replaced my original order with an upgrade item. While that was not necessary, it was very kind and generous. My only remaining issue is that the customer needs to have a verified tracking number for the purchased item(s) sent immediately upon shipping. I my case, that would have circumvented a lot of hassle. I chose to order from The Shell Shop because I had shopped there personally years ago and was satisfied with their products and their quality. Thanks again to the store for its resolution of an unfortunate situation.

Came here and bought souvenirs for my family and friends. The owner is really nice, although she wasn't there when I arrived *ahem* lol. She was very nice and it was a very interesting store. Picked up more than I wanted, but that's how it goes, right?

Great for all sorts of shells, and also has gems! I found the perfect goldstone pendant! Carol was a great conversationalist. I'm so glad we stopped by, and we'll definitely be visiting every time we're in Provincetown.
