I was hoping to be at the Masthead now, at this moment, but because of a medical emergency, I am not. To be clear it is not my medical emergency but my best friends. We were going to celebrate my 12 year sobriety anniversary tomorrow at Race Point Beach = My happy place. Expedia said that they would advocate for me with the masthead. I wasn't expecting any kind of refund since I cancelled with such short notice due to the aforementioned emergency. It would have lifted our spirits and not been a financial burden if they could have given us some form of credit to a future stay, but like expedia said that have very strict policies. It is a shame that The Topmast resort up the road is not open in the winter. I wouldn't be in this situation if they were. When it rains it pours. Don't worry about me though, this won't cause a relapse:-)Sincerely, Barry Tibbetts.

41R is an amazing suite! We stayed 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The beach views were stunning with all windows. The rooms were very clean. We will be back!

With a few modifications, the Masthead can be a great option for a gay solo traveler to Provincetown like myself. It’s in a convenient location just a 10 minute walk to Tea and 5 minute walk to the Provincetown Inn Pool. The room I was in was small but well suited for just myself. The resort is also on the water with ample deck chairs on a deck. The bed was also quite comfortable. The key to my room wasn’t working properly. It wouldn’t open and would take several minutes of trying just to unlock. When you’re coming back late at night, this isn’t what you want, especially when customer service was so spotty. There wasn’t always a person on staff even during office hours, and when I attempted to text the help line their communication was unclear.I didn’t receive housekeeping during the time I was there. When I checked in, there wasn’t even hand soap in the bathroom (not hygienic!) or body wash in the shower. The curtains in my room were very thin and let light shine in early in the morning.I can’t recommend this resort until customer service improves, they replace the curtains, and fix the door issue. Otherwise, the place has promise.

Not fare.We booked a fully cancelable stay. Due to Covid the manager canceled the stay and decided not to reimburse and credit the stay for another date.Fortunately Covid is over, we decided to go there and use our credit ... no answers to my very polites e-mail. They simply ignore ... not fare.

One of the pictures had a washer/dryer. Not all rooms have this feature. No laundry on site but $100 a load. Great spot on the water.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at The Masthead. We sprang for a suite, which had a lovely water view, adorable kitchenette and super comfortable bed. Highly recommend!

We booked a stay here without much information, and absolutely fell in love. This place is incredible. Private and quiet resort but just a quick walk to downtown (less than 10 minutes). There's no pool, but every unit is RIGHT on the ocean, complete with beach chairs and a few steps straight onto the sand. Every staff member we met from office workers to housekeepers were so friendly and helpful. We ended up extending our stay. Some cottages are newer than others, so be careful which ones you pick. Some are more modern while some have that 1930's charm, still. We can't say enough good things about this place and we can't wait to come back.Rooms: Each cottage is different so take your time looking at the room pictures and descriptions. Some are two stories, some single. Some are newer and modern while others are more 1930s. We stayed in more than one, and liked each one for their own charms.Walkability: The resort is right on the ocean. You can access the beach from any unit in just a few steps. It's close to downtown, as well, if you're looking for restaurants, bars, or shopping. Parking was limited and was sometimes a struggle so we usually ended up walking where we could instead.

We visited for a two night stay and had an amazing time. We had a room with an ocean-view porch, which was lovely to sit out on. The proximity to the water was unbelievable. Great walkability in regards to the beach and town. Excellent service from the moment we checked in. Would definitely recommend!

Dream cottage on the water. This is such a lovely place and an amazing location on the beach in Provincetown. Clean and welcoming, the staff is helpful. February on Cape Cod is a perfect time to appreciate the calm quiet peaceful sunsets. I don't think too many people think about taking a few days or a week on the beach in the cold weather, but it's our favorite time of year here at the Masthead.

We were able to book on Saturday for Monday 7/11. We got a “suite” on the top floor. Room 39a. We pulled into a very tiny parking spot in their 5-6 car lot. Everything is cramped down there so no surprise with that. We were happy to have a spot, since it’s first come then you get a pass to park down the street. Able to check in at noon. The room was mostly clean. Mismatched furniture, bed was comfortable but did have a dip in it, ok for 1-2 nights. Full kitchen. Bathroom small, don’t touch the mirror lights you will get burned. Water takes forever to get warm. Beautiful view of the water. Can’t open the window. You can sit outside and enjoy the peaceful view. It’s a very quiet residential location with a 15-20 min leisure walk to all the fun, 10 mins if you pick up the pace. Couldn’t find a way to access the beach close by…. It was nice enough especially for $249+ tax for a kitchen. We didn’t know it had a large stairway so ask where your suite is if that will be an issue. Not sure if I would stay there again. But no bugs, mold, smoke or loud noises. And for the amount of time we spent in the room and the close proximity, worth it.

While our family was truly looking forward to the four night stay we booked in a waterfront cottage, unfortunately COVID had other plans. We emailed to find out if there was any flexibility for refund (the policy clearly states they are not provided) or allowing our payment to be applied to other dates, or finally to at least have friends in the area make use of our paid ($4,000) reservation. We received no response to our email, called as follow up and had no call back for the first call, and when we finally spoke to management were yelled at, cut off, and told the reservation was cancelled and they were keeping our payment. Yes the policy states no refunds, but hospitality should have at minimum no rudeness. Just hope you don't need any customer service, responsiveness, or understanding and who knows.... maybe it will be ok.

Beautiful vista from room. Air conditioner barely kept up and it was only 70 out. Bed was comfortable. Hard to lock and unlock door to room. Within waking distance of shops and restaurants.
