Quincy Animal Shelter is a dedicated organization focused on advocating for animals by providing safety until they find loving homes. It is entirely volunteer-run, ensuring that all animals, from puppies and kittens to seniors, receive excellent care and affection. The shelter promotes spay and neuter programs to help control pet overpopulation and aims to be a leading resource for proper animal welfare education. Visitors can stop by on Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm to meet the animals and potentially find their new furry friend. The adoption process is thorough, ensuring that pets are placed in suitable homes, and the shelter welcomes back any animals if needed. Many positive reviews highlight the seamless adoption experience, with one family sharing how they adopted a sweet black cat, Puma, who came spayed, vaccinated, and chipped, making the transition easy. The new building is praised for its warmth, and the staff is noted for their kindness and care towards the pets. Overall, Quincy Animal Shelter is highly recommended by those who have adopted there and those who have volunteered, showcasing its commitment to the well-being of animals and the community.
The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Although I do not remember her name the girl who helped me with looking at the dogs was amazing. Highly recommend if you are looking for a pet try the shelter and give a homeless animal happiness, comfort and a good family.

The shelter is in a brand new building that co-houses Animal control and canine police patrol units. It is a gorgeous building and cats and dogs are getting great care there. Adopt, don't shop!
