“I had been having problems with my car for months. 3 warning lights would come on when I was driving. I took my car to my usual mechanic and they repaired what they thought was the problem, however, it did not repair the problem.I brought it back and they tried something else, but the warning lights persisted. I then thought a fresh set of eyes might solve the problem, so I brought my car to a garage near my office and they tried their fix, but it did not work. I was told that if their first fix did not work, the problem may need a costly repair. I was talking to a neighbor and relay my concerns about whether anyone could fix the problem and he suggested Ted's Tranmissions and General RepairI dropped my car off and within an hour they diagnosised the problem. They recommended I bring it to Sullivan Tire for an alignment. None of the other shops had suggested an alignment, so I figured at this point what did I have to lose.I got the alignment and I am now light free!I would recommend Ted's to anyone who is having getting answers for a problem with their car. They are wonder diagnosticians and I am sure they would be great at repairs, it they could have repaired my car.”

“Being far from home and needing a car repair is nerve wracking. On my long drive to the area something under my car broke loose. “I can’t thank Jimmy and his team enough for the sacrifices they made to repair my car last minute. I went to Jimmy’s shop years ago and haven’t had any services done since I purchased my vehicle 7 years ago because I went to the dealership for repairs. Fast forward, last night I was in a tight spot needing to tow my car to a reliable place from the dealership because they were trying to charge me an arm and a leg for a problem with transmission. I have family that still brings their cars to Jimmy which recommended him being the only place we can tow to. He contacted Jimmy who’s very responsive and was willing to help. It was the best decision. The next day, Jimmy moved swiftly, was able to find another issue (dealership didn’t tell me) and give me a better price. “My family has been using Abington Automatic Transmissions since I was in diapers. They fixed my very old 2003 Ford Windstar, it needed new transmission lines. They got the job done in less than 2 full days and the price was almost priceless. They are a family owned business and they take pride in their work and professionalism. They are great cause they are not ripping you off like a dealer would. Reasonable prices, great mechanics, and the receptionist Nancy (i hope i remembered her name. She is so pleasent to talk to) is very helpful and actually knows a lot about car issues and she makes you feel that your car is going to be taken care of as if the mechanics were working on their own cars. “I went in because the D on my dashboard was blinking (PRNDL). They were able to diagnose the problem and have my car ready for me all in 1 day. They ended up replacing the 3rd gear pressure switch and I no longer had the issue.”

“Ming's Auto Repair is a humble shop nestled in the neighborhood right in Allston--between Cory and Ming they do a great job on the cars that they work on.They even work with their customers to get the best parts (i.e. whether they are willing to help me save money by bringing my own parts)! That means they're not just a business and what they care most about is a job well done and that is one of the first things I look for in a Mechanic.There's just a couple of caveats; they don't do Vehicle Inspections and Ming doesn't work on Trucks and other large passenger vehicles!Services: Tires”
