Great location - short walk to shops and restaurants. Great view from Lookout room and very clean. Didn't use clubroom but great space. Very quite post-Christmas before they shut down for couple months, which was nice.

Decided on a last minute get-away to Rockport--in the wintertime---and LOVED it! The Cove was a perfect choice! It was directly across from the ocean with a beautiful porch right outside of our door and windows, where we sat with blankets, drinking our coffee each morning! We also took walks up to the top of Bearskin Neck and stopped for breakfast at Brother's Brew Coffee House to start our day(s). The room was bright, had a wonderful king size bed and large shower! The mini fridge and microwave were a bonus! As much as it would have been the PERFECT place in the summer, it proved to be equally beautiful and relaxing in the winter!! We liked having the place (almost) to ourselves, and the on-site free parking in the lot next door (accessed by a walking path) worked out perfect!! Perhaps we'll be back next NY's Eve, as well!! (If not sooner!)The service was all done remotely which we found to be no problem, but if you have difficulties with technology or prefer hands on assistance at a hotel, the wintertime may not be the time to go. I'm assuming it may be different in the summer/spring?

This is our second time staying at The Cove Inn. We love it. Better than most AirBnbs (and better prices off season … although obviously no kitchen). Perfect location - walk to everything downtown, shops, etc. Beautifully appointed room with amazing views (we have stayed in rooms 10 and 11 on the 3rd floor). Clean and bright. Very easy communication via text and email re: our reservation, door code, etc. Highly recommend!

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable- and that was all we needed for our one evening in Rockport. If I was trying to vacation I would have been slightly irritated by the following: There was nobody-and I mean nobody in this place. It is NOT a hotel but a hotel turned airbnb with individual rooms and DIY everything. For $244/night in December I would expect some level of service because it is very confusing to find where to go in. Yes, the door is labelled but it is not intuitive. Also, you have to park down the street and walk with your belongings like a hobo to get to the room. You are not permitted to even stop in front of the place to drop off. They did not make this clear prior to booking. So, if I was staying for more than an evening that would be unacceptable. As it was we had done some shopping and had some food items so we needed to make 2 trips down the road to load up our car to depart. We were on the second floor and the staircase is steep. I am pretty sure it doesn't conform to new standards but is probably grandfathered in- at least they made that part very clear on the reservation and we do not have mobility issues. It was still very steep and difficult to manage while bringing luggage/etc. The sink is inexcusably small in a rather sizeable bathroom- I cannot fathom who thought it was a good idea to put the smallest, most shallow sink in a hotel bathroom but one cannot wash their hands or face without getting water everywhere. Lastly, this is an old building and the door to our room had a very large gap from the bottom of the door to the floor. So, like I mentioned before, this is not like a hotel room but a room in a home or something. No privacy as we could hear radio or TV from another room and every single step the people above us took. I felt I had to whisper while in the room and that is uncomfortable (for my taste). I do want to emphasise that it was very clean and the bed was comfortable, though.Rooms: Clean and comfy. There is a microwave but no napkins/paper towels or utensils so heating leftovers was not easy. Also the bathroom sink was so small that one could not clean up easily is using the microwave.Nearby activities: Shops/restaurants in walking distance-Feather and Wedge likely the best place in the area!

We absolutely love this place. We stayed last year and did so again this year. Rooms are great (we’ve stayed in two different ones) and we like the contact-less check in. The staff is very available and checks in via email and text daily. Location couldn’t be better!

My husband and I traveled to Rockport for the night to see a show and we were thrilled with the location of the Cove and the attention to details in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the clubhouse as well.

We stayed at the Cove over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful, wonderful experience. We stayed in the lower apartment adjacent to the Inn and the cleanliness was immaculate. I couldn't find a fault in that even if I tried. The only downsides, is that the pull out sofa bed was broken and footsteps in the apartment above were loud. It's possible that the people just had heavy feet, but we understood that the building was built to be a home, not a hotel, so noises will be more numerous.I did not inform the inn of either "inconvenience", as I was able to comfortably sleep on the couch and the people above were not egregiously loud (we could have knocked politely, too). It's possible that the staff doesn't even know that the mechanism is broken, but I'm putting it here just so they are more apt to fix or replace it.We WILL stay here again. Aside from the very small inconveniences, I can't say enough positive about our experience.Rooms: Clean, spacious, well appropriated and themed. The pull-out couch mechanism is broken in Millbrook B, but as I said elsewhere, they might not know about that yet.Walkability: Short walk into the shopping area, nearby restaurants. Chilly in cool weather, but a lovely, safe walk.

Great location for a small boutique hotel. It's easy walk to downtown and all the shops and restaurants. The room, even though it was small, it was well furnished. The 1st floor rooms, dont have as much privacy, so we couldn't keep blinds open to see the pretty view. It has a nice club house.

The Cove is a great place to stay. We were in the townhouse and absolutely loved it there. It was so cozy. The view was amazing and the location was perfect. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Great location right in downtown Salem so there is plenty to do. It is brand new so everything is very clean yet kid friendly at the same time with cool themed rooms. We definitely hope to stay here again!

There are basically no services. This is a self-check in and out hotel. No staff on site. The process is very efficient and well organized. Room and bath super clean and well appointed. Nice linens and comfy bed. Quiet with a great view and plenty of deck space for enjoying the view.

The Cove at Rockport was a wonderful experience from booking to checkout. Responses were timely throughout the reservation process and someone even answered the phone when I had a question! The room was very clean, the public spaces tastefully decorated and the views and location were spectacular! We look forward to our next stay!!!Rooms: Very clean and tastefully decorated.Nearby activities: Plenty of activities within walking distance or a short drive. Halibut Point State Park is a 5 minute drive with great hiking along the shore with quarry history and spectacular views.Safety: The building is very secure and in a safe neighborhood.Walkability: Easy stroll to the beach across the street and the many shops, restaurants and music venues in the village.Noteworthy details: Make sure you set aside some time to relax on the expansive deck and take in the view and listen to the waves crash on the shore!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cove and our time in Rockport. The room and the hotel itself was absolutely beautiful with a stunning view. But the downside was, that there was no service. We were happy to pay such a high price (ca. €890 for 3nights) for our stay but would have expected a more personal touch as an experience. It was self check-in, no one on sight to help solving an issue, minor breakfast options but only Friday to Saturday and no one was cleaning the room on a daily basis.Someone was reachable over the phone when we had an issue. She was friendly and helpful but it cost us an extra $10 since we don’t have an US phone. On our trip we stayed at a comparable hotel and location: paid $250 less for 3 nights, had yummy breakfast, charming host and the room got cleaned daily.

We really enjoyed our night stay here in October, we stayed in Room 10 which was perfect for the two of us. Had great views! Stairs to the third floor are steep, we had no issues but if you have a physical limitation it’s something to consider. Overall a great location, beautiful views and accommodations. Hopefully we can stay longer next time.

We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Cove and had made sure we were going to make the most of it with a room with a direct view on the ocean. That's pretty much the only thing we got to enjoy (except for the bed, which was of great quality).Very disappointed with the lack of any customer service at all. We didn't see anyone on the premises despite going to the lounge several times. We had to call the available number to ask for infos.Access to the rooms is with a code. We even had to help other guests who were struggling to enter their room. The room has a microwave and a fridge but absolutely no glasses nor cutlery. What is the point in having a such equipment then?We had to drive to a liquor store to buy plastic glasses (we had bought a bottle of wine to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset from our room). The person on the phone confirmed they never supplied such thing (despite the pictures on the website featuring people drinking wine while watching the sea, which inspired us to do the same). The room is really calm and we had a good night. In the morning and upon departure, still no one in sight. The only contacts we had were the emails received reminding us to leave on time.So if all you are really looking for is a wonderful and peaceful view on the ocean and don't care about customer service at all despite spending 300$ a night, then you shall be happy at the Cove. Otherwise, do look for other options along the coast.
