“My first time discovering this spot, and I love it! Lovely to see locals coming in with friends and family for quality time chatting over a cup of coffee. Nice background music. I enjoyed the Mexican mocha and cranberry/orange scone, and I got a toy truck for my friend's little one. The bookstore employee was very nice and engaging with the customers and ready to help with recommendations. I'll be back soon!”

“Walking into this retro game store feels like stepping straight back into childhood. Every shelf brings back memories, and somehow they have just about everything you could ever hope to find—and then some. What truly sets this place apart, though, is Dom. He's the kind of owner every small business hopes to have: welcoming, genuine, incredibly knowledgeable, and someone who truly loves what he does. His prices are fair and competitive, but his kindness is what left the biggest impression. Watching how generous and thoughtful Dom was with my boys meant more than he probably realizes. It's rare to meet someone who takes the time to make kids feel special while creating such a warm, nostalgic experience for the whole family. If you're into retro gaming—or just want to support an amazing local business—do yourself a favor and stop by. You'll leave with more than just games; you'll leave with great memories. Thank you, Dom, for reminding us that outstanding customer service and genuine kindness never go out of style.”

“This children’s bookstore is absolutely outstanding! Every child’s birthday gift I give now includes a book from here. Michelle always has the most amazing recommendations, I can simply walk in and say, “I need a few books for a seven-year-old’s birthday,” and instantly she has so many wonderful options ready for me. She even gift-wraps everything beautifully, which makes the whole experience so easy and special. The selection, service, and personal attention are truly exceptional. I am so happy to have found this store, it is truly a jewel of Medford!”

“Anime Zakka is a nice store located near the end of Newbury Street, close to Uniqlo and Muji. It is below ground, leading you into a place to be immersed by anime and Japanese pop culture. I enjoyed browsing and wandering around the store, as there were many products I’ve never heard of or seen. I found Tomica cars, a product I’ve never seen in Boston before but know many car collectors may enjoy looking at. I also found many stuffed animals I never knew existed for products I like, such as Miffy. The only downside is the products I did know were overpriced. I am a big fan of collecting lottery items, and they were nearly double the price at the store compared to what I could buy it for at online retailers.”

Everything I have purchased there is treasured by me and my children. The owner and her mother who work together there are a dream and such a pleasure to shop with, they have helped me on countless occasions. ❤️❤️❤️”

“I almost never leave reviews unless something extraordinary happens, and today something did! The store staff here knew I was trying to win my son a TNT Minecraft squishme and after I left sent me an email letting me know they figured out which bag has one and that I was welcome to come back to trade in if I didn’t get one. Incredible. Completely made our day, what a wonderful bit of customer service that really distinguishes this store! We are so grateful.”

“I got a call from them saying they denied what they thought was a fraudulent order. Stephanie had taken the time to find my phone number and then call me to let me know. Instead of the criminals being able to use my card for days or weeks until I noticed they only managed 4 fraudulent charges and the card was quickly canceled. If they take the time to help me out and I'm not even a customer then they are the tops in my book.”

“I have been in this store twice in the past 2 weeks and both times Olive was working. She was absolutely wonderful! I had so many questions about certain items and she answered them plus some . Olive made me feel so comfortable I didn’t want to leave and just keep shopping. The store was very clean and very organized. Everyone that walked in was greeted and welcomed with a beautiful smile from her. These days great customer service is hard to come by . I will definitely be shopping there for all my toys, hobbies crafts and more . Thank you Olive !”

“My 4 year old daughter simply does not interact with other people but the folks at this Build a Bear always get her out of her shell and positively bursting with excitement. Having worked retail I can't imagine how difficult it must be to make every interaction feel special when you do it all day long but these folks step up every time for what is a very magical moment for the kids building a new friend. Everyone has been wonderful but Serena in particular really shines!”

“A really cute toy store. Amazing people, amazing products. It’s always a joy to go to and I go out of my way for this one specifically due to their stock and personality.
