Went for a fitting with my mom in June. It was pretty last minute on my part, I had only done research on corsets from a historical perspective, lucky for me the owner was very patient with me and answered any questions I or my mom had. She explained the fitting process step by step, and checked in throughout the process to make sure I wasn't feeling pain or discomfort.
Though the corset itself was comfy (for me anyway, weight and pressure relaxes me), and felt very supportive of my back, I wasn't ready for the visual of it. I was very nervous to tell the owner, since I felt as if I had wasted her time, she was extremely understanding and reassuring, and did not press for my reasoning at all. She even offered a fitting to my mom, who accepted, and really enjoyed the whole experience.
Overall, I learned a lot about corsets. I know where to go if I ever wanna give corsets another shot. It was a lovely experience ???

The staff was highly disrespectful to any potential customers and implied multiple times that us potential customers are too poor for them. I will not consider shopping here again and I would not recommend this store for anyone looking for a corset.

Wanted to go as a group of 3 girls as a fun day out. We're 26-30 and are all adults with fulltime jobs. When my friend called to make an appointment over the phone, the owner frankly told her that we couldn't afford anything in her shop. No discussion of price points. No discussion of what we were looking for.
My friend, not wanting to give up on our day out together, offered that she was looking for something $300, the owner told her to shop at a ren fair because her cheapest corset was $600. Would we have paid that amount? Yes. Was my friend willing to continue talking to this woman after she told us we were too poor for the store twice? No.
Take your business elsewhere, this lady has no tact or customer service skills.

Tamar is absolutely wonderful. She helped get me a wonderful Corset in my budget. Plus her instructions on putting it in are really clear and concise. Would totally recommend!

I found A Beautiful Corset when I wanted a non-traditional wedding outfit. Though I was nervous about even being fitted since I'm a bigger girl with insecurities, I decided to just do it. From the moment I set the appointment until after the 2 lacing sessions I had Tamara was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and explained everything in detail. She answered all my questions and helped me create a custom corset that was everything and more that I could have wanted. I wore it for over 10 hours and everyone loved it I would recommend her to anyone and will most certainly go back to her for my next corset.

We had been interested in purchasing a corset for a few years and were disappointed with the quality and fit of the ones available through the online chain stores. We decided to visit A Beautiful Corset during a trip to Salem, Ma, and very extremely impressed. We sought to obtain information on corsets and potentially make a future purchase. After a brief discussion with Tamar we were shown two beautiful corsets from her vast collection of high-quality corsets. Relying on Tamar's experience and guidance, we selected a custom-made, limited-edition corset which fit beautifully. Finding the corset was constructed of pure Chinese silk and steel and a truly unique design, we immediately purchased it. Tamar then provided us detailed instruction in putting the corset on and taking it off both together and alone. Additionally, while impressed with Tamar's instruction and attention to detail, we were more impressed with her commitment to ensure we enjoyed our corset after the purchase in the future. Service like this is a rare find, coupled with a lifetime warranty on the corset, easily makes this one of our best purchases. We are enjoying this corset and already planning on an additional purchase.

Tamar is an exceptional corset fitter and merchant. She has been fitting and selling corsets in Salem for approximately 15 years, from my meetings with her, it shows.
Shortly after scheduling an online appointment for a fitting I received a call from Tamar to obtain some preliminary information: bra size, general body measurements and style preference. Corsets are not necessarily fitted by bra size, but it is a good reference point. She also shared her current COVID precautionary requirements and updated address.
I wore leggings and a fitted shirt for the fitting to allow the best possible fit for a try on. Upon arrival, Tamar assessed my body and showed me the styles we had reviewed on the call and which length and specific design would be best for my body type. She measured me for the most accurate fit and within 10 minutes, I was laced up in an underbust corset and nearly in tears from how beautiful I looked and how great it felt! She informed me that the strength of the lacing would not and SHOULD not be as tight in the beginning as it's important to season the corset and yourself for the best fit.
She also appeased my partners desire to see me in an overbust corset and we both instantly fell in love. We decided to purchase both, the underbust in a black coutil cotton and the overbust in black satin. Tamar sells Vollers corsets, a UK company founded in 1899; she shared a brief history of corsets and had samples of the steel boning for reference!
I returned approximately two weeks later as she had to special order one of the corsets, of which you can decide what fabric you would like via swatches on site. Tamar is not only great at finding the best fit for you, but TEACHING you how to lace yourself properly and how take the corset off properly. She allowed video taping of the session for reference, which I barely use because she explained the process so well!
The self lacing and partnered lacing lesson was two hours long, but incredibly thorough. In addition to tbe actual lacing, Tamar reviewed storage of the corset, how to set the corset for your next wear and best cleaning practices. She also provided information on seasoning the corset and adjusting yourself to wearing it for extended periods of time. Wearing in increments of one hour, two hours, four hours and six hours. This is my recollection so please refer to Tamar for a better explanation.
With Tamar's teachings I feel empowered and safe wearing my corsets.

A Beautiful Corset and its owner, Tamar, are simply exceptional. Tamar is patient, kind, non-judgemental, and highly skilled at what she does. She knows just by looking at you what style will look perfect on your figure (and she has so many options to choose from in her shop).
If you're an irregular size like me, she also does custom corsets. Tamar has done two corsets for me: an underbust she had in stock, and a custom overbust style I got to pick fabric for. Both are super high quality, comfortable, and meant for all-day wear.
She helped me and my partner learn how to do couples lacing and self-lacing over a couple of visits--she takes time and care to make sure you understand your way around a corset--by look AND by feel.
I mentioned this before, but she is SO PATIENT while teaching. As someone who feels anxious about "doing it wrong" any time I learn something new, having Tamar coach me through it really helped.
Go see Tamar; she does this because she loves it, and it shows!

Tamar is an expert at finding a corset that will work for you, no matter your body type. I've never felt this cared for when making a purchase. If you're looking to buy a corset for the first time, I highly recommend getting a professional fitting.

I went three years ago and still wear the corset to this day. Tamar was wonderful to both me and my friend who was also there for a fitting. As a person who has tried many brands of corsets this was the highest quality I have seen, ever! Extremely comfortable and easy to get in and out of on my own.

My favorite place to purchase corsets. Highest quality, with a lot of options to choose from. Tamar is pleasant, professional, and very knowledgeable. She knows exactly what styles look perfect on different body types and has an eye for fashion. I highly recommend buying from her.

Recently went here to look for a wedding corset. I had the most amazing experience. You can't beat it. No matter who you are, you are welcome here. I am a size 4 and there were a variety of corsets for me to try on which is typical. My mother is a size 22 she "just came along for the ride" but we were shocked to discover that they had corsets for her to try as well. No matter you size or size you are welcome here.
It goes without saying f you are looking for a high quality killer corset COME HERE. Each corset is custom fit to your body. You are bound to find something that is both flattering AND comfortable. Can't recommend enough

I went here a few years ago because corsets were exciting to me and I was thrilled at the thought of having my own (I am plus sized so in theory it would boost my self esteem). I never got to test that theory because 400$, waiting an extra week for it to come in after being told it would definitely be there when they told me later, I come to find out that the sales person measured me incorrectly. The corset was too big. When I asked about it, I was told I'd have to pay an extra hundred dollars to get it altered for her mistake. I did not lose weight. I was the same measurement as to when I went. Absolute waste of time and money. The corset has been sitting in my closet, practically untouched since.

Go in person or you will regret it. High quality products, high price, nice if they fit.
Should have brought the wife along - no refunds - but did not clarify the exchange - don't let the Manager tell you, you can return it - she will play the paperwork game. i will not shop here again. $500 wasted.
