East India Square in Salem is a historic landmark that highlights the city's maritime past. The centerpiece is a stone fountain designed by John Collins, depicting the changes in Salem's shoreline over time. The square is a pleasant spot for visitors to take a break and learn more about the city's rich history as a gateway to the Far East. The area offers easy access to nearby attractions, making it a convenient stop on a tour of Salem.
The centerpiece of the square is the water fountain ⛲. You can actually walk in it and walk up to the fountain and feel the spray. It's crowded in the Fall especially when it gets closer to Halloween 🎃. Surrounded by businesses, a mall, restaurants, ECT, it does draw a crowd.

A nice square hidden away along the main tourist street in Salem. There are lots of sites nearby and it is a pleasant place to stop at and get your bearings.
