Didn't stay here, but attended a conference. The staff was fantastic, the food was great, and they made sure we were hydrated and our presentation areas were set up.Nearby activities: Close to all the fun stuff in Salem. Across the street from the Witch Museum.

We ate at Nathaniels at the Hawthorne Hotel. The chowder, by far, was the best we had during our visit to Salem and Boston! We also enjoyed the quinoa salad and truffle fries. The wait staff was very helpful. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Salem.Nearby activities: Tours galore!Walkability: Very walkable.

The hotel is beautiful. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. Also leave the privacy hanger on the door the entire day if you do not want housekeeping to go in the room. We were in the process of loading the car and came back to housekeeping in the room and we felt rushed to get out. It was not even 10 am. Check out is 11.

The good:Great location, Every staff member was wonderful, the food is EXCELLENT. Nice historic vibe. The Bad:1 elevator wasn’t working. (Eh Things happen)The ballroom at the wedding was very hot.Set the room thermostat to 66, it was 90 degrees! Called the front desk, they said the thermostats work backwards. (?!) Tried to open the windows for cool air, apparently only the tops open. A note about the windows would have fixed it.All wedding guests experienced the same sleepless night because of the heat. Unacceptable. There is an fragranced/chemical odor throughout. Possibly a cleaner ?

We had a great time at the Hawthorne Hotel! The dining experience was enjoyable, and the atmosphere was family-friendly. It's a wonderful spot for a meal when you're in town.

Very racist establishment especially the booking manager. Years ago the Hawthorne was diverse . My room wasn’t clean this time and they refused extra towels . If you are a person of color do not go here . I almost forget the history of Nathaniel Hawthorne who was racist much like the staff at this hotel . Would it be too much trouble to put up a sign saying White Only. ?

Wonderful staff. I called the morning of our arrival to see if we could utilize the parking lot before check in. Staff answering the phone was polite and incredibly helpful. Checkin was great upon arrival. The front desk employees were friendly, fast and efficient. Parking was a little tight but very convenient, a definite benefit to the hotel, but could get full during peak tourist months. Walkable to all the the fun sights in Salem. The hotel is truly beautiful lit up at night. Nice to stay in a little part of history .

I've never stayed here, but I've had the food in the tavern and have attended functions in the different rooms. The location is easy to get to, service, food and drinks are fantastic.Nearby activities: PEM, Downtown Salem, WaterfrontWalkability: The pedestrian walkway isn't far, Salem's Common is nextdoor, many shops close by, or a short walk awayFood & drinks: Delicious!
