I placed an order yesterday, 10/30/2025. The delivery window was from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Around 5:00 pm, I began receiving texts that about that 13 items were unavailable. They were, running late and called the store, and the staff was super rude. Second time I use the appt to track they keep saying is out four delivery. They never call the door dash or give my his number to see is location.To see How much longe I have to wait. Around 8:30 they start sending text we running late we be there at 8:41pm ,change to 8:47pm change 9:00pm etc. I got my food at 9:47 pm. I have a note don't put nothing on the table. The man still did but alot off bags on the fragil table. I was missing item like salmon 1lb and also the products were smash.

Literally out of everything all the time.
No fruit, no muffins, no wipes, doesn’t matter what kind of items, they’re always “unavailable”.
Also, most of the time the fruit is moldy.
I pay for FreshPass & order through the Shaw’s app weekly, sometimes twice, sometimes through DoorDash as well and there hasn’t been one time in months that I didn’t get notifications of multiple items being out of stock.
They never mark the items out of stock either so I end up filling my cart with mostly the same things every week, then just have to spend the hour finding substitutions or having to wait days for the difference (if any) in my account.
A lot of time times, even though the items were unavailable, I’m still somehow charged the same amount (if not more) even though those items weren’t purchased or substituted.
I do of shopping for my daughter for school and last night I purchased a 3lb bag of grapes for just under $10, had to throw it out, and spend money on a new bag today. They were brownish and all had squishy spots instead of being bright green, crunchy and fresh. Today I was told there were no peaches or plums anywhere in the store because they’re out of season but they are still on the website to purchase, most grocery stores still have these items available all year long, but I’m being told there is just no fruit anywhere at this store.
I end up doing the “deals” on strawberries, I buy the 2 and get 1 free at $4.99/container & then have to throw out 2 of the containers. Recently I’ve had to pay extra to purchase the organic ones in order to not get moldy strawberries.
I spend so much money here trying to feed my family and most of the time I’m literally throwing money away.
Please update your stock and unavailable items so we aren’t pre-paying for them just for them to not be there.
I’m not sure why it’s been like this and getting worse for months at the Salem location but it’s highly disappointing (and expensive).

Even after new ownership and management your prices are still overpriced yet you say that you're going to drop your prices and we've all been waiting You're overpriced with poor quality and that's why everyone goes to market basket change your baseline because you're going to continue losing customers and you're going to continue losing profit and margin.

Asked for a pound of shaved turkey, got handed turkey steaks instead. The deli guy grumbled non-stop — getting louder with each slice — about how they were “about to close” (with almost an hour left). Service was meh, but the comedy was priceless. Five stars for the laugh.

I've never been to Shaw's. We're away in Boston(town of Swampscott )for a weekend getaway and needed groceries for Airbnb.Google maps search returned this supermarket and we headed there. It's A LOT like a Pecks Market. It's bigger than I expected,they have a meat Dept, Bakery,Deli, Seafood Dept (closed by the time we arrived ,918pm) each dept had all the usuals and pretty good options. They had a colorful fully stocked veggie and fruit isle that had everything you could want/need. Pretty much everything a supermarket has just in a smaller scale
Eggs, condiments, soups gravy, diapers, frozen food and dinners. it ticks all the boxes, except 1.
It was super clean ,very modern aesthetic and the prices we comparable to home. Staff were helpful in locating things I needed and check out was a breeze. Why the 4 Stars? I did not find S&P as a set and no losse pepper anywhere, only pepper grinders. I'm a big black pepper fan. None the less great spot quality food items and will be returning should we need anything more.
Thank you Shaw's for being open that late, having everything we needed to sustain for the weekend

Store is always clean well stocked a little more expensive than market basket but a completely different shopping experience not as crowded as market basket no long lines and best of all you won't need to rush or get hit by someone pushing a cart 😉

If you don't have the shaws app your missing out. What's the cost of living and groceries continuing to rise you will not find another grocery store with prices lake Shaw's. Also the store has been newly renovated, it's very clean and organized and just an awesome place to do your shopping. Let's not forget about their employees, I usually do the order online pickup shopping and because I order the same ice cream all the time, The employees have gotten to know me through my favorite ice cream flavor 😂 The other day Ben & Jerry's went on sale for $2.99 (for members only in the app) and I received a text from an employee who works in The order pickup area, she texted me to tell me my favorite ice cream is in stock and is going on sale the next day, and is going to put some aside with my name on it in case I place an order. I didn't have time to place you later but I went over there after work and sure enough she put aside 4 pints for me, and if she hasn't I wouldn't have been able to get them because everything is all sold out by the time we got there., now that's what I call customer service 🙌
