Something happened to this shop. I got a vibe instantly a year ago the minute I entered, and loved the staff. I cried in my reading. This year, however....negative vibes all the way.

This store would not allow my wife in the store because she is a paraplegic and uses a manual wheelchair. “No wheelchairs during October” they said. Happy Halloween.

First time visitor to Salem in October, of course it’s always very crowded, but I have to tell you that this store had the most beautiful aesthetic, the most items, and well educated staff to help help with any of your spiritual needs. Melissa was absolutely gracious and such a warm, helpful, knowledgeable person, the young man at the door that was monitoring how many shoppers were in the store at one time was very courteous and gracious, and between the items available, the knowledge of the staff, and the overall ambience of this place, it was amazing other stores in Salem can be gimmicky or looking to exploit Salem’s history, but this is such a beautiful authentic helpful shop. I would absolutely recommend it as a must see if you visit Salem. I am so excited to find out also that they have an Instagram page and a website as well so for those of us that are tourists like myself, we can still have access to such a wonderful resource. Thanks for a great experience!

Such negative energy when we visited. The angry woman at the door was scolding everyone like children, instead of potential customers. I think she was an owner of some sort ?

I placed an order online. One of the items was not shipped. No one responded to emails.

On August 4th, I was visiting Salem and made a purchase at the Cauldron Black. An employee rang me out and overcharged me $59.99 +tax ($66.74) by charging me for two of the same book. I didn’t realize it at first, as he gave no paper receipt and hadn’t told me my total, as we were engaged in conversation. I noticed about an hour later, when I checked the email receipt he sent me. I immediately called, as I live 8 hours away. I was told that only the manager could issue a refund and to send her an email. I immediately sent an email to the one they provided. I sent another on 8/6 and another 8/15. No answer so I called the shop 8/18, and they advised to send another email and they would follow up with her. 8/21 same thing, call and told to email. 5 emails and 3 calls later and the owner Jacqui Allouise Roberge finally emailed me back on 8/26, 22 days after the incident and initial email and call. She said she had been out of town and would be processing my refund the next day, 8/27, and that it would take 3-5 business days to clear, putting it on 9/2 at the latest. On 9/5, still not receiving it, I emailed her, stating so. No reply. Emailed 9/9. It is 9/12, 39 days, 7 emails, 3 calls, and a BBB review later. I’ve been more than patient. I've begged them to please just handle it, as now I will need to cancel my bank card to get my money back, which I really did not want to do. After reading other reviews on how employees are treated and how so many have had similar issues as myself, I took to leaving reviews of this unethical business.

We enjoyed our tarot reading with Nick. The retail portion offered many interesting items that we could have spent all day looking at.

Got to come in with my husband on our honeymoon. It was probably my favourite shop to find after crawling through all the touristy ones near the main drag. This shop had some some beautiful wares, a nice selection of books, nice bone specimens amazing altars (that my partner knocked an offering off of), and the people working there took the time to tell me about events and classes upcoming that can be accessed at home too. Please go check them out and make them top of your list.

Came in here tonight to get some shopping therapy after work! I’m new to the area and found it while walking around and checking out the area. Beautiful shop, great atmosphere. I feel sad I forgot to get her name, the lady who helped me was so awesome and helped so much. Found the cutest drinking glasses, a new smudge stick, a time candle & the most beautiful Hekate wall plaque!

If you’re looking for supplies this is a great store-never terribly busy and seems to be fully stocked. The staff was less than welcoming, however, which I’ll never understand in shops like this one. You’re not doing anyone a favor by working and you’re not a better witch for looking a certain way. You’re just happily falling into a patriarchal stereotype of a witch. So, good on you I guess. We’ll stick with Artemisia.

If you love occult, witch and pagan-related things then this place is where you want to be. Forget the touristy witch shops in the city center, if you’re practicing then you definitely want to go here. They sell all things that you need from statues, candles, to dried herbs and whatever you need. The staffs are very knowledgeable about the subject and can give you advice on what to buy.
