Horrible experience. Shortly after entering the store, the owner started loudly blasting two of her employees in front of a store full of customers. A flyer advertising an upcoming Pride event had been hung on the doorframe of the store and the owner was accusing the two staff present of having posted the flyer without her approval. Despite denying having been the ones to place the flyer up, the owner continued to blame and berate them publicly. During the conversation, the owner repeatedly made homophobic and transphobic comments in reference to the LGBTQIA+ folks hosting the event. I ended up leaving as I was so disgusted by her behavior. If I could review separately for my experience with the staff, I'd give 5 stars as both maintained professionalism, continued to welcome customers into the store in a friendly tone, and help customers while being yelled at by their boss. Following that visit, I left a review pertaining to this experience on another well-known review site. The owner proceeded to leave inflammatory comments on that review (which, no surprise, included homophobic assumptions about myself), which is a violation of that site's policy. As such, the site removed my 1-star review because of her comment. Seems the owner has figured out how to get low-star reviews removed on that site. So, hence why I'm leaving a review here. Owner also has a history of threatening lawsuits (as she's also a lawyer) against those who leave low-star reviews. I wish she would either sell the business or close it down. Indie bookstores struggle as it is - she's not helping the business out.

I was a little sad to find out that Wicked Good books wasn't in the same spot anymore and was in with a toy store. But I still love bookstores and visit them frequently. They definitely have a smaller selection in this location but I was still ablet to find plenty of books I wanted!

Best place in Salem to grab something new to read. Lots of local interest titles and conveniently located on the main drag by the museum.

Small and cute. Was expecting a bigger selection but it was still a good variety and friendly service.

I love Wicked Good Books! They are so helpful in ordering books for me if they don't have it on hand. The shop is adorable and well organized. They also have an online ordering option with shipping. Check them out!

I don't know who these folks are that are giving this amazing store 1 star reviews, but obviously, they cannot grasp the concept of what it must be like to be in the HEART of the chaos in Salem, in October. Wicked Good Books is run extremely professionally, their staff is well versed with their books, and they are kind, helpful, and courteous to their customers!! DO NOT miss the opportunity to stop into this gem if you are in Salem!! If you are a book lover, you will not be disappointed.

Popped in after the Halloween crowds were gone, and found they've got a great selection. The blonde gal was super knowledgeable and helped me find a couple of great books. Happy to support little local gems like this shop!

Store owner accused an autistic family’s child of stealing, which resulted in a full-blown public scene. The family didn’t steal anything, but that didn’t stop the store owner from going ballistic on them, yelling and cursing at them. Must have been incredibly difficult for the family. Guessing from the replies to the negative reviews here, the owner has intense anger issues. Hope she heals for the sake of the community.

I visit Wicked Good Books every time I visit Salem and always try to purchase something to support indie bookstores. Their logo is cute and the store is clean. They carry a good selection of local history books and witchy books to choose from. Their employees aren't very friendly. Maybe they just get tired of all the patrons but it's salem and they're giving you revenue, maybe just be a little more pleasant. The past 2 times I've visited, their selection hasn't been very good. It seems they have several books from the same big name authors and a few newer options sprinkled in.
