It's a more accurate explanation of the witch trials

Oh boy, where to start...It's basically a tourist trap. The guided tour takes place in a dank, musty basement with tableaus of witch hysteria. It reminded me of 1990s Chuck E Cheese without the pizza, singing or ball pits. The wax figures are poorly sculpted and appear very old and dusty. Our guide spoke so fast that we couldn't understand what they were saying, and we were in a large-ish group for the tight space. It was comically bad. Worth the $13 for the laughs, but I don't recommend this attraction if you want a good history lesson.

The Salem Witch Museum is one of the city’s most recognized landmarks, drawing visitors right on the edge of Salem Common. Opened in 1972, the museum is housed in a former church building whose Gothic-style exterior sets the tone before guests even step inside. Its purpose is to bring to life the infamous Salem witch trials of 1692, an event that forever marked the city’s history.
Inside, the museum uses life-sized stage sets, dramatic lighting, and narration to recount how fear, superstition, and injustice led to the trials and executions. It offers both a historical overview and an exploration of how the idea of “the witch” has been viewed in different cultures over the centuries. The experience aims to educate while immersing visitors in the atmosphere of 17th-century Salem.
For many, it’s both an introduction to the city’s most notorious past and a place of reflection on themes of justice and intolerance that remain relevant today. The Salem Witch Museum stands as a reminder of how the city’s legacy continues to shape its identity. #salemma #salemwitchmuseum #witchtrials #historicnewengland

The biggest tourist trap in all of Salem. Campy, odd, and outdated, but it has its own unique charm.

I went on the last tour of the night, the staff where fine but I could tell they where tired, the tickets where expensive so I expected more then just a few statues a little story telling and that's all, learned like 2 things, small souvenir shop, I honestly don't recommend.

Brenda was very kind and told us lots of interesting facts. I highly recommend this museum. The gift shop is probably the best one in Salem, too.

A must-visit to learn about Salem and witch culture. Creepy wax figures and great for learning.

This tour was truly horrific. It seemed so outdated, and our tour guide made like jokes out of everything, which is just terrible. Literally could also barely understand the tour guide? It’s quite literally just like smelly animatronics in a basement. As someone with a relatively decent knowledge of the trials, this was just astonishingly bad. Tourist trap, don’t go.

Laughably lame. Offensive representation of Native Americans. Crappy mannequins. Poor lighting. Don’t waste your money.

We bought combination tickets for the three related museums which offered a great variety of information. Our tour guide Bailey was amazing. She was very insightful and funny throughout the tour. The display were nice and a little outdated, but they covered a long span of time and history. Overall it was a great experience.

It's alright, but not worth the money to see all three places they suggested.

This is cool little place if you're into kitschy roadside attractions. It's mostly a big gift shop, but for a few bucks you can go through a series of haunted house-like Halloweenish exhibits that give you an elementary overview of witch history up until the modern age. It's a fun way to burn 20 mins, and they have great merchandise and a friendly staff
