Because we had a lovely day hiking nearby, a refreshing drink was what we needed to finish off the day. I already had a dinner date later in the evening, but many of the food selections looked like they were made from scratch and quite tempting. It was only a moment or 2 later when everybody at the bar engaged us directly into their conversations. I thoroughly enjoyed how friendly and home-like this place was, even though we almost drove by. if you like restaurants that are built into charming homes, except you, as you are for whatever you're wearing, and appreciate the fact that you went out of your way to go to their special little space, then you are in the right spot. I did not read any of the reviews about how people felt about the actual food, but our drinks were on a special list, and they were quite delicious. Would I take another trip back here just to try the food because everybody was so special in this beautiful New England space, absolutely. And, sidenote, if you want to know where to go, hiking, so you too can have an excuse to come out this way let me know :-)

I have eaten here twice in my travels. I have had a great meal and local beer both times. Yes... it is a quirky place with smaller rooms , but you can easily see how this place must have been 200 yrs ago! Very cool. One waitress, but it was a quiet lunch. service was good. And yes.. zit. Old sue a de-cluttering! But I would stop again. We need to support these smaller places, otherwise we will only be left with Apple-skeeve or chilis

A most excellent place to have a Thanksgiving dinner that was prepared as if your grandmother made it. The ambience is that of dining in someone's home, a real tavern. The experience was made even better by top shelf service and genuine warmth of the staff.

The waitress was engaging, sweet and engaging. Grilled chicken, potato salad, onion rings, were a treat. 18 century setting with original Kings Floors, windows, trimmings and spooky ghost in limbo since her murder in in the 1700's by an estranged boyfriend on her wedding night.Food & drinks: Food was fresh and tasty

Had lunch at the inns restaurant, we had the French onion soup and the New England clam chowder, they were both delicious. We both had the meatloaf which was very moist and saucy. The waitress Trudy was very accommodating and the inn is all decorated up for fall and Halloween themes . Very quaint and cozy. Thanks Barbara the owner for a great experience.

Friendly. But wowit was like stepping back in time. Needed a good cleaning and a decor refresh. Food was ok. No clams in the clam chowder .just lots of potatoes. Onion rings were the highlight of the meal.

Neat place, lots of history.Great beers on tap. They had a special of steamers or fried whole bellies. I ordered the fried whole bellies and they were over done, most of the order pretty much burnt. Sent them back. Recieved another order and there were less claims and they were barely fried. Should have just ordered the steamers, LOL.Like I said before, cool place to stop for a bite, but hopefully in the future they can get there fried clams under control. Will be back.Noteworthy details: Historical
